Update caused blurred text

An update (a Firefox update was one I was aware of) has caused text to blur in all browsers.

Cleartype is switched off (which makes test more blurry).

Has anyone experienced the same?

Does anyone know of the fix?

Fixed this with "Smooth edges of screen fonts" unchecked in "Advanced System Settings"

I think updates do more harm than good!

I'm using the latest version of FF, chrome, opera but haven't experienced the problem similar to yours. Thanks for sharing your experience, it might come handy to me in the future. btw, where is "Advanced System Settings"? In firefox?

Wow thanks for this solution. Got this error too but i got it only on firefox not on other broswers. Firefox is very buggy for me lately so i dont know if they do the updates for good or bad.

The only reason I stick with FF now is to see the ajax request sent from client to server. I don't know if Chrome has this feature, if it does, I will say goodbye to firefox.

WOW! for a LONG time a LOT of programs have some algorithm to load text simultaneously such that it goes from blurry to clear. It is very obvios with things like google documents. I guess this is just someone's idea of saving bandwidth.
