The smartest marketer is definitely Kim Kardashian, who is famous from nothing, and basically makes money from doing nothing too lol I mean, what does she actually do?

Kim Kardashian is the first person I thought about when I read the thread title. Truth be told, most of all celebrities are excellent marketers. Look at how people obsess over Hollywood celebrities, studying every intricate detail of their lives. And little do they know, what that celebrity presents to the public isn't even who they really are. Almost everything you thought you knew about a celebrity is most likely fake. But they're able to sell a manufactured image of themselves to the public and pull in millions of dollars.

That's marketing at its best, IMO.

I'm not sure anyone really stands out in Hollywood. Most movie releases follow a set formula for the release. And after the first week, it's pretty much word of mouth about whether a movie is good or not that takes over.

For entertainers of all kinds, Lady Gaga seems to be an excellent marketer/promoter.

Man, you just brought a huge smile to my face.

I remember back in the day when I used to wear the XXL G-Unit hoodies, with the matching G-Unit hat and T.

With that being said, Fifty is the last of a dying breed. Everything he rapped about, he lived.

A better example would have been Rick Ross. William Leonard Roberts II took the whole identity of famous drug dealer Freeway Rick Ross and basically 'stole his identity' to become the famous rapper he is today.

Before rapping, he was a correctional officer. Doesn't get much more 'Gangsta' than that.

But he is a perfect example of smart marketing. He was involved in numerous 'rap beefs' the most famous was actually with 50 Cent as he was the one who started the whole 'Officer Ricky' thing.

If you can go from Correctional Officer, to the worlds 'hottest' rapper (his words, not mine) even after having a feud with a handful of rappers (including 50 cent who is notorious for 'ending' peoples careers thing Ja Rule) he and his marketing team MUST be doing something right.
