It's Official - I'm Scared!

This weekend is the third anniversary of Katrina. Remembering the results of a direct hit on the Mississippi coast - I really don't want to do it again!
The final numbers in MS were staggering: 238 dead (seven of those from my own subdivision), 67 missing, 65,400 homes totally destroyed, 400,000 more homes damaged and/or flooded.

From Katrina - this is what it looked like along our coast.

Waveland MS Katrina Damage

Ground zero for the Katrina hit was about 20 miles west of me in Waveland

Important: Gas prices here are up 20 cents in two days. They are preparing to evacuate the oil rigs in the gulf - better fill up now!

I'm just crossing fingers and toes and hoping that if Gustav comes here, it will be no more than a category 2. It's not comfortable being in the middle of the weather channel's "cone" so I'm hoping that cone will change direction (my apologies to Louisiana and Florida for that wish).

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

No, just get out of there and worry about everything else later.

If Kay posts again before the storm hits, we should all send her a rather rude PM urging her in no uncertain terms to leave now.

Who cares if it's a wus or not, GTFO now!!!!

We're not sure yet where it's headed - there's time. I'm taking care of details of securing everything (again).

My first reaction was pure fear - but now I'm in "get ready" mode and if I need to, I will get out of here.
