Now every time I opened CNN or NY Times, frequently I am reading about people going so desperate because of the economy or the lost of a job, that they start shooting innocent people and than committing suicide. The worst case is when they kill their own family, their own kids, taking into their own hands the fate of their children...what you think about that?

Are people going mad? I know that most people on this forum is resilient (you have to be to be an IM) Do you ever see you in a situation that you are so desperate that you would go crazy like that?

And what about these people (mostly men) that would take the lives of their own kids? Don't you think these people are scumbags?

What is going on is that Obama wants to relieve us of our 2nd Amendment and so anything that shows guns in a bad light will be over exposed in the press to create public fear of guns.
Recently I read an article not covered by MSM and it should have been. 10 Students were having a party and 2 intruders broke in, they separated guys from girls and got ready to rape one of the girls while they were counting bullets to see if they had "enough".
One of the students got into his backpack, pulled his gun and killed the intruder that was holding the guys - then they went after the one holding the girls, and saved his girlfriend from being raped - not to mention the life of everyone at the party.
I tried finding that article again and haven't yet. But MSM sure ignored it.
But we need to remember - no matter what propeganda the mainstream feeds us -- there is a reason we have the right to have guns and if they area taken from us, and we have a patriotic duty to KEEP that right. The way this country is going, we have a NEED to keep that right.

A society that is unarmed by it's own government is enslaved by it's own government.

People suffer desperation in different ways. Most worry about it but don't let it rule their lives, while some will become so stressed out as to begin think illogically, such as thinking it best to kill themselves. But what about my wife and children? Who will care for them when I am gone? Okay, I'll take them with me, that makes sense...

See what I mean? They begin to think they are helping their wife and children by killing them. (Maybe they are? Who can know for sure?)

    It is unfortunate, nevertheless.

Most people have options when the going gets tough, but there are many who do not.

As they used to say in the newspaper business, if it bleeds, it leads. That's why we always hear about the unfortunate ones who are pushed to the edge and see no way out.

Also, what Sal says above is true. It's a concerted effort by the current administration to relieve us of our weapons by making everyone aware of all the terrible things they can do, while never mentioning how good it is to be armed when the chips are down.

If guns are so terrible why do they give them to each member of the military and the civilian police forces? Do you think those people are immune to suicidal thoughts? Hardly.

Saying guns kill people is like saying pencils misspell words.

It goes to show that everyone acts different under pressure. When people lose everything they have that they feel they have worked there whole lives for, they fall into deep depression and start entertaining thoughts that they shouldnt, the next thing we know somebody dies because of someone elses stress problems. Its sad because the children who were killed were not to blame. The whole situation has been terrible these past years.
