I order 50 educational software games, where the seller had to edit the software so i can burn to cd cos not many ppl im selling to have internet access so cannot download the software. anyway i paid 3 dec for all this and he said he can only send me 5 games per day??? Because it takes a long time to upload to the net, he uses drop box by the way. Im not internet savvy and this does not sound right, i put a dispute on the paypal payment because im not happy with how long it is taking, so since i paid i have only received 5 games, which i have downloaded etc.....he is demanding i take the dispute off with paypal. But at this rate the games will take forever to arrive and I did ask him initially if he could do the job of which he said yes it will take a couple of days......its now day 4, and he is saying he will try send 7 games a day from sunday...omg... each game is around 390mb... unpacked zip file....so is he right? can anyone suggest a faster way to get these games to me please.

With a T1 line with NO mistakes and 100% efficiency, it would take almost 8 HOURS! Transferring at 100% that would be about 3 a DAY!

A T1 may seem slow, but less than a decade ago it was like the gold standard for individuals.

A T3, which is STILL much faster than any ad I have heard for indivual use(Like DOUBLE the BEST speed), could handle 222 copies a day, but that is if NOTHING goes wrong, etc... Unlikely.

Of course, we are taking about DOWNLOAD speed to do an upload. Many places today have SLOWER upload speeds. T1s and T3s were unusual, by today's standards, as the speed was the same both ways. So if he had the same connectin, and speed as you, it would likely take him several times as long to upload as it takes you to download.

He MIGHT be able to do the work on the system, or have YOU change a few files. That could cut the time SIGNIFICANTLY by reducing the impact of his connection.

Of course, you didn't give us enough information. If you expect these disks to be different, and burn them from like .iso files that he moves there, you are being unreasonable. 4GB was ALWAYS a lot, and IT STILL IS! HECK, the maximum speed up a standard dialup, BEST CASE, is 3380Bps! That would take almost 14 DAYS for ONE copy!

At 5 a day - 10 days would be "forever". Really?

Since you rushed to paypal to file a complaint - I doubt he'll be sending you more downloads with a dispute in place.

It's a downside to working online - customers who don't understand processes or systems but are quick to file disputes rather than to work out problems or show some patience.

EDIT: Glad you closed it - next time check thoroughly before taking such drastic action. Often there are valid reasons for delays so give sellers a fair chance to fill your order.

As Steve said, not enough information. But as both Steve and Kay sadi, you need a lot more patience. Actually, you need to learn to work out the details of a deal ahead of time.

WOW, you know I must have been REALLY tired. I have been on fumes all day. A t3 couldn't do 222 copies a day. It would only be about 96.
