Or am I the only one?

It seems extremely counter intuitive now.

I guess it's still good for searching. I used to like to watch trending videos, and I have no idea where to find them now... if they even have them any more.

It took me 2 clicks to find trending videos (Trending Music).

Category (left sidebar) > Trending (2nd slider down)

It's easy to find if you're not logged in - I found that out. However if you're logged in, the home page looks completely different - at least mine does. And none of those category links are even there.

There's just a list of videos Youtube "thinks" I want to watch. I hate when google websites do that. I can f#43ing think for myself! Pardon the language.

          That is interesting to know.
I have an account but have logged into it only once or twice. I had to post an unlisted video for a challenge I did and I had to make an account to do that.Other than that I am never signed in.

            Google is hilarious.

            Absolutely and utterly useless.

My YouTube is even left alligned now. Is it meant to be that way?

I think it looks even worse than it did before. Every time they make a design change they seem to screw it up.

I have observed a curious thing happen online beginning in 1999 or so.

All improvements to online experiences are anything but. Look at the Google search drop down list as one example only. Search queries try to write themselves; the serps only throw up what it thinks you want.

My point is, the online experience is no longer ours to control; it is in control of the algorithm developers who want to be us!

The convoluted psychological complexities of decades of this kind of contiguous overlapping subtle manipulation can only create future zombies of us all.

I truly believe the Internet is a soul catcher where the fingertips are the tech version of the brain's pre-synaptic gaps and the keys on the keyboard are the post-synaptic gaps.

Oh and by the way, yes; I do hate the new YouTube layout.

Yes. Youtube's new approach is nasty in many ways. Where does it stink most? Hard to say, it being rancid all over the place.

Probably the new way they have to send something to your subscribers, is at the top of my suck list!

You can only send to 25 subscribers at a time!!!

But you can cut and paste 25 at a time into a notepad page and send to the lot!

Hmmm, golden rule, don't put your trust in Google, and get your subscribers onto another list, asap!

        I'm with Kim.

I don't use it much except for searching for songs or old commercials and such, so it doesn't really bother me much...but I will say I think the layout is ugly!!

I concur. I still haven't figured out how to check my inbox. Not only that, they took away the option to browse people's other recent videos while watching one of their videos.

I'm hoping that another good video site comes along soon, and youtube becomes the myspace of video sharing websites.

  • How do you copy a video to post? I used to use the long link and it always came up fine - that feature does not seem to be there anymore...

I don't like the title being under the video. I much prefered the look of the title above the video.

Yeah, l have been having that prob, just cut and paste the URL, (top one in your browser) and it will work!

And make sure that you don't delete and replace the UT UR, in your thread, otherwise it may still not work? Best to put the curser on the last line of text press enter a few times and paste! Then delete the old one!!!
