Hi Warriors. I just found a funny cartoon explaining how to read Korean in 15 minutes. Seems like useful. Can anyone confirm if it's true?

Learn to read Korean in 15 minutes - The Meta Picture
  • I don't speak Korean, but it is certainly seems a simple and clever way to teach the basics of a language - I wonder if there are other examples out there - for instance, I hear Indonesian is a relatively easy language to learn...

That's cool. I was just curious to know why. Interesting choice. The Korean language would open the doors to more easily learning related languages which there apparently aren't, unless the theory of Altaic languages is correct. The most radical theory I've come across with regards to the not-generally-accepted Altaic language theory, even puts Basque and the Ainu minority language in Japan under the Altaic umbrella. Actually I have just turned down a new job in Seoul........

It was a dream job with a big wage packet.

However after evaluating all the pros and cons I felt it would be a bad Korea move...

          Ok sorry :p

Very interesting links. I am trying to make a decision on my third language. I feel inclined to Portuguese because it seems easier for us Spanish speakers.

Sure, and it would be easier for me to go to Brazil than to Korea.

Where do you live? Spain, South America?

I met lots of Spanish speaking medical doctors in China who were studying acupuncture to incorporate into their conventional medical practices. Spanish speakers did seem to struggle more in learning Mandarin than English speakers. South America is rising right now and China is noticing. China seems to have made an interesting deal with Brazil to basically give the middle-finger to the American dollar:

I'm Colombian so I'm close to Brazil. Interesting article. Here in South America we can feel how strong Brazil has become. They are not dependant to USA like Mexico, Chile or Colombia.

i have lived in south korea and visited north korea

i can speak and read food and shopping korean

there are more relevant ways, i dare say easier, of learning korean, dude

you can learn the alphabet in less than an hour, but korean is a living language, so learn to use it appropriately or not at all

a korean could the learn the english alphabet in an hour, but that too is a worthless exercise, unless you can use it
