Just wondering what kind of music are you guys into

Me personally I pretty much like everything right now my favorite band is probably Avenged Sevenfold

But I also like rap:

I like original rock and roll all the way out to punk rock. (pass on soft rock and posers)
I like Celtic/Pipes, Jazz, African, East Indian classical, Middle Eastern.

I am more into the music than the lyrics as a rule.

This is probably my favorite not so oldie right now.

I'm mostly into heavy metal. Mostly oldschool at the time of writing and I also listen to some deathmetal. My desire to listen to techno is getting lower the more techno I hear. I also listen to some danish folksongs or what you can call them.

I can name some names I hear:

Primal Fear

Judas Priest

AC/DC

Iron Maiden

Metallica

Rammstein

Shubbidua

Kim Larsen

Some avril lavigne, some kelly clarkson

Most of the things I listen to come in periods. So in 3 months I might mainly listen to oldschool heavy and the next to months I maybe listen to danish folkmusic like shubbidua

Chill Rock - Slightly Stoopid, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, DMB
Reggae - All the Marley's, SOJA, Matisyahu
Rap - Wyclef and Fugees, Bone thugs, Lupe, Talib, a lotta underground stuff.

  I really enjoy the early 70's soft and classic rock. The Peace Movement of the Vietnam era. Throw in a bit of dance for an upbeat mood.

I wondered if I should reply to this post, but then I thought, "Ah hell, at least I get to educate people a little bit."

I listen to goth music.

Goth is NOT stuff like My Chemical Romance or Evanescence. If you like these bands that's cool, but this is *notnotNOT* goth music.

The ORIGINAL stuff are bands like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division. Basically they formulated in Britain around 1979. If you want more info Wikipedia actually has a pretty good article on it. Goth subculture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyway, other music... not part of the original 1979 bands, I also listen to a lot of orchestral, electronic, industrial and some heavy metal. Too many bands to list right now, but a few of my current favorites are Leaether Strip, Mechanical Moth, In Slaughter Natives, Nox Arcana and Sopor Aeternus.

Give me a little acid jazz, a little neo-soul [Jill Scott, india.arie, Kindred the Family Soul. etc] and gospel music [especially Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, etc.]. But I will listen to most music depending on my mood.

I'm a headbanger. Was annointed with the nickname "Grandma Mosh" at a Mega Deth concert (no I wasn't in the pit, just hanging on the railing at the edge of it).

Fav's are Disturbed, Tool, Rob Zombie, Ill Ninio, etc -- but I like old rock and roll, too - Spirit, Blind Faith, Zepplin, Hendrix, etc, and so forth

I've been starting to get into jazz recently. Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker, and some of the other really well-known people. It puts you in such a different mood and frame of mind compared to rap, rock, and most other music that's popular these days.

My music tastes are very ecclectic, I love all types of music with the exception of opera and country except for the few songs that make it over to the top pop charts!
Please understand that at Christmas time, all bets are off, I listen to ALL types of music!
I don't care what venue you use to celebrate the birth of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ! I just say bring it on and Praise Him, Praise Him, Yeah, Praise Him!!
I think my most favorite song of all time is Louie Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"!
