Misdirected Intelligence?

It seems that when someone has an IQ of over 190 but doesn't properly apply it, he'll work as a bouncer at a cowboy-theme club and develop easily-debunked theories of the universe, presented on badly designed websites (blue on blue: not so readable, LOL):
Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe

It might apply. Often applies to NYT too. I don't know if they think people are stupid or are all in on an agreed-upon scam, fooling themselves as well.

A person could have a 1000IQ and STILL not be able to figure out something that one with an IQ below 100 easily could. It does NOT mean they have a special talent, knowledge of everything, etc....

And YEAH, I KNOW! NOBODY can have a 1000IQ. I am just emphasizing. ALSO, there are 7 recognized intelligences, and anIQ test only tests 3-4 of them. The IQ usually reported is a COMPOSITE! So a person could test FANTASTIC in math, logic and verbal, have a WELL BELOW spatial, and STILL have a high IQ. Such a person would have trouble with the rubics cube, drawing, etc...

Sure. I don't believe IQ tests are synonymous with intelligence any more than fitness and strength test scores are synonymous with sports ability or testing perfecting pitch is synonymous with being able to compose music.

That said, my words are often synonymous with a big steaming pile of BS.

Well, IQ tests strive to measure knowledge(IMPOSSIBLE, since NOBODY knows everything, and it would take too long to ask everything anyway), and the ability to use it(CRUDE AT BEST), so YEAH, you're right, IQ tests aren't that great. They were ORIGINALLY used to measure STUPIDITY! Measuring the raw knowledge and ability to EXCLUDE retardation, and somewhat measure its level, is simply more reliable.

Well, let's hope not. There is a Long Island serial killer who hasn't been caught yet,

I wrote about this guy probably 8-10 years ago. He was bartending because it gave him the most time to develop his theories while supporting himself, not because he couldn't get a better job.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.
