Just as the title says,

Should I accept a payment from a non-verified buyer on paypal?

Can there be any bad consequences?

Only accept from them if you know them, they live next door
and you can go round there to shake them warmly by the throat
when you do not get paid or other annoying stuff.

We have accepted thousands of PayPal payments from non-verified members in the past with no problems. However you should take precautions if the amount involved is large.

One suspicious sign would be that the e-mail address is incomprehensible e.g. a1xxbbssdd@yahoo.com instead of peterturner@yahoo.com

For larger payments, we tended to hold the order for at least a day before shipping them. Because PayPal usually reverse the transaction within a day if it came from a hacked account.
