The area around out home is a haven for wild turkey, and one was sitting on a bush outside our kitchen window a few minutes ago. They are quite large.

    Fun photo, Don.

I bet that view is beautiful and green in the spring/summer, eh?

    Best,

Oh, and during the autumn when the trees turn. Wow!

Throughout the summer we hear the millions of tiny tree frogs. They are about the size of the tip of my little finger, and sound like loud crickets.

There also are owls, deer, skunk, coyote, deer, oh yes, and more deer. Deer love begonias and any home grown vegetables. Did I tell you about the deer?

Bambi did $4,000 damage to my car when he/she/it ran out from nowhere and tried to stop my moving automobile. They are more stupid than a begonia.

But turkey are fun. When we had the Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog, she would stand on the screened deck, and bark herself inside out at the deer and turkey. They would just look at her and laugh, then go about their business as if Stevie dog didn't exist.

Very effective tourism promotions, Don. Now I want to visit. No need to set another spot at the table. I'll just help myself. My toddler can get pretty loud, but I guess you're used to noise, so that's ok. My cousin is louder, 2 meters tall, eats A LOT, enjoys Havana cigars (he'll find a way to get them across the border), but does clean up the ashes 80% of the time (and I only had to use the tranquilizer gun on him once). See you soon.

Sure come on over. We have a good vacuum to clean up your cousin's ashes. Uh, I mean his cigar ashes.

@Michael - Oooo poor Tommy, but I'll bet fresh turkey was wonderful.
Wild Turkey is made here in Kentucky and I gave it up many years ago.

I figured that it wasn't right for me to try and drink all of it by myself not allowing
others the opportunity to at least try it...lol

So it was you were the one competing with me. Many years ago I quit too. No wonder all those Kentucky liquor stores went out of business.

    Don,
When I was a youngster (5-6) my father brought a live Turkey home.
I would feed it every day and we became really good friends.

One day I walked behind the shed and as I turned the corner I saw an axe
come down on Tommy's(my turkey's)neck. The blade didn't cut all the way through
and he went running all over the yard with his neck swinging left, right, up and down
for what seemed to be forever. Needless to say I had been unknowingly fattening him
    up for Thanksgiving.

Long story short. I cried and I didn't eat turkey that year.
Iironically, turkey was what I always wanted and couldn't hardly wait to have for
    Thanksgiving dinner.

Just thought I would share that,
    Have a Great Day!
    Michael
PS, Now that I'm older, and as shown in my post above, I have options...lol j/k
