It's a cool home. I posted this a while back:

Ahh yes. I first saw this around 2007 time. It's been there a while and every so often has a resurgence of interest on social sites, which I suppose is well justified as the thing looks incredible.

As far as I recall, the same guy had plans to develop a large, multi-dwelling settlement on a plot of land in Pembrokeshire, Wales, as a sort of working model for low-impact homes, but I think he ended up being declined planning permission.

Here in the UK there is/was a long-running programme known as Grand Designs, with one absolutely delightful episode that you might find by the name of "The Woodsman's Cottage" with a guy called Ben, who had been living on a kind of platform and working the woods in which he chose to build this thing. Check it out. It's breathtaking.

    EDIT: Here it is!

I LOVE that house - and I think Ben made a good point. It may be the way people will learn to live sometime in the future.

I could live in that house (the original house) happily.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Guess you didn't watch the video - he uses fast growing trees and harvests certain areas every so many years. Much of his land is regrowth forest. Using that wood is part of his business as well as the house.
