Who knows... I hate that garbage site as well.

Only reason I keep going back is to keep in touch with old friends & my family.

And a bit of marketing here & there. But mainly to keep in touch.

How do you find it user unfriendly?

Is is popular for many reasons,but a lot of us see it for what it is, another tool,that's all.

I can't imagine hating a Website. I don't spend a lot of time there but recently reconnected with a whole bunch of people from my very early days (Kindergarten and elementary school). It was really great to catch up with these people and has done me a lot of good to see them again. I also have been better able to stay in touch with family as well.

You can make facebook what you want it to be. You don't have to be friends with people that annoy you. You can like pages that bring you good content.

Maybe you are using it wrong.

Like KimW said, a tool, utilized to make money, drive traffic, what have you. An intrusive, clunky, and invasive tool, utilized not because I like it -- I don't -- but because that's the spy device folks have injected into their lives.

Yep, l have developed software for Facebook and know first hand what a pain it is to navigate through it, or figure out which page is what!

It is a bit like PayPal, although they have improved it quite a lot recently. It used to be a puzzle trying to find the page that allows you to set up a new shopping cart campaign, for example.

Try developing software for Facebook, it's a nightmare, but doable!

Facebook is but a disease.

It's a "tool" I have to use occasionally for work (I'm thankful it's only ocasionally) for the fact everyone else uses it as a base of comms.

Facebook adds many features lately and the design look terrible for me. However, it's still the first site I check everyday because I need to keep connected with my friends. Seem like the social benefit is still important than the poor design.

Well, Facebook is good for connecting with friends and acquaintances and also for business. While some benefits of using Facebook business page are similar to those of having a website, still a number are unique to Facebook.

Yeah, I might check out some of those again. But if my friends aren't on there, I'm not sure I'd get on any of those. I log into message boards with specific topics for everything else I like to read. I agree it could be a time waster and counter productive, but it's also good running a page. I never got it into twitter really. I know a lot of people prefer twitter instead.

Definitely a time waster. I have friends who spend all day on there! Then they get cross with me because I dont have a personal facebook account! I'd rather be producing products.... :-)

Completely user unfriendly? Why? It's easy to work and navigate around facebook. What I don't like about it is that people are posting too much about themselves even the very minute things that should have been left unsaid, others post inappropriate shout outs and/or photos of themselves or others, and stuffs like that.

How can one create a Facebook group without first adding people to the group? That sure is intrusive and unfriendly.
How do you prevent private posts intended for friends from appearing on the rss feed? That sure is invasive and unfriendly.
How do you hide the fact that you're online when you want to use Facebook chat?
How does one opt out of showing a timeline? Maybe a user doesn't want everyone to see how a playback of their life.
How can a user not share list of Facebook friends?
How can a facebook user opt out of being tagged to photographs?

1. you can upload innumerable photos
2. you can play games via facebook
3. Facebook can make you smile
4. getting involved with marketing
5. knowing what your friends are doing via chat text or video, ect
There are varieties of interesting and useful tools on Facebook page, so it is popular now.

I do find it rather frustrating for certain things like uploading individual photos but it certainly has its uses and it is an excellent marketting tool as previous folk have mentioned. I also like that they have improved their photo quality lately. It makes a huge difference.

Agree I proper hate it with a passion I closed my personal account down a while back and the one I use for IM is just linked to my blog so all the posts automatically get posted there I have 0 interaction with it.

for every success story on IM there is a skill action attached to it, i think people with the right skill are killing it with fb, otherwise just stay away, will finish ur money, happened to me
