I'm getting really cheesed off with marketers!

Are you having the same problems as I am?

Can you leave any of your messenger services or Skype online? Can you leave your mobile switched on?

It seems that as soon as I am online somebody is trying to sell me something. Now even my Skype is getting spammed although, fortunately, I can block the spammer on the first attempt.

I get messenger messages offering all sorts of wonderful services from people I have never heard of but want to be my contact.

My mobile chimes away every two or three hours with yet another stupid advert. I have had to change my network because of the cost of these SMS adverts - now only people in my telephone address book can send me an SMS.

My Gmail accounts are being clobbered by this 'mail every Gmail customer' operation - it's getting to the stage that I just want to leave everything switched off!

Oh, yes - Twitter - the latest marketing avenue "Buy this and follow me!" - right!

I wondered why I was getting sms messages from people and businesses I never heard of then I read the fine print of my service agreement and they charge me for everyone, sent and/or received, even if I don't know the person sending it,so they have no reason to block these unknown texters. Heck, under those conditions it may even be them texting me!

They alway say that e-mail spammers deserve to be jailed or made bankrupt, but I found telemarketeers to be much worse. There had been a number of times when they rang my mobile phone when I was driving and I could easily have had an accident because of it.

Do not get between a wombat and a chocolate biscuit; you will regret it dearly!

    Hi, Valerie,

So it wasn't you! Thank the Lord for that!

Actually, I don't quite see how I can avoid ignoring people on Twitter - I get hundreds of tweets an hour and can't possibly read, let alone respond to them all. I really will have to spend some time to see how the whole thing works. I have had eight direct contact messages in the last two hours and only one was a personal message.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

Motorola F3 ...the best cellphone for eliminating loads of annoying
incoming C**P .... notably when you only make out going calls,
turn it off the rest of the time and just get another free PAYG
sim if you do get molested. Its robust and designed for 3rd world use
originally, has a virtually unbreakable mono OLED screen. Long talk time,
very slim, no camera or multimedia rubbish and very rudimentary text
capabilities. They are dirt cheap and light weight, got two of them for me and my wife.

LOL, its amazing how much time and money gets eaten up by all
these trendy means of communication. Retro/basics works fine.

The other day, in the News, apparently nearly 20% of French folks prefer
using IM or PM to communicate these days.
