What's Your Experience In The Job World?

Earlier, I was thinking of an instance where I ended up losing a lot of money I made in a previous business and ended up having to go back to work. I know that asking this question on a forum where most people are entrepreneurial, I'm bound to get some pretty radical replies but I'm gonna ask that we keep it logical.

Personally, I hate the idea of working a job. I have nothing bad to say about people that do work 9-5's, but I felt like slave. I didn't like the idea of trading time for money and living on a fixed schedule dictated by someone else. A job is cool as a starting point though...a tool to gain some experience and save money until you can branch out on your own, if you choose to. I honestly believe its my hatred of working for someone else that drives me so hard in business. Every time I start slacking, I think of the idea of working a job and get right back on track. It's almost like an obsession to do whatever is necessary to keep from going back.

What was your experience? What drove you to entrepreneurship?

Yep, totally agree, l started a job, doing computer editing work, and eventhough the work wasn't boring, it was demanding!

Their previous worker, worked as hard as he could, (probably explains why he left) and l made the mistake of working at a comfortable pace?

They did offer me other more suitable work, but l didn't pass their qualifying period!

Probably for the best, the thought of becoming a robot and doing the same thing, over and over for 30-40 years wasn't very appealing! Obviously the money filling my bank account was nice, but.....

Yeah, a job is easy in the short term, but not so good for the long term!

Making more and more money online with less and less effort is not so good for the sort term, (usually takes 5 or more years to figure it out) and fantastic for the long term!

I am past the 5 year mark, so l should see some worthwhile results soon; and can understand workers getting p*** at people that work a couple of hours online, and make, 3 times, what they slave at for a month, in a month or day!!!

    Shane :p

This also gets back to retirement! This doesn't make any sense to me? In Au, you work hard, typically blow your super on a 4 wheel drive and overseas trip, then go on the pension, and become more and more of a hindrance to your friends and family, because of your house getting old, or your medical bills, etc??????

It makes more sense to me, to put in the hard yards now, when l am relatively young, and then reach old age, with a substantial income! Or retire young!

This IM lifestyle obviously isn't for everyone, but it's ironic that a worker when hearing about how much an entranapeur makes a day, usually gets seriously p*** about it!

I think we need to remember that not everyone is cut out to work for themselves. Many that try it do not make it and have to go back to a brick and mortar business. That's okay and appropriate for those who do.

Without looking down on the people who need the more structured job to succeed in life, it works out better for the ones who can create their own opportunities due to lack of even more stiff competition.

I worked many years in a very difficult job with difficult people to please and can't say I miss the job or them one bit. There are people I do miss, but most of the ones that were important to me, we get to see each other once in awhile. But go back to where I was? No way, don't have the patience for it.

True, from what l have heard from a very successful IM'er, is,...90% give without even trying!

And the remaining 9%, try once and then give up!

Then of the remaining 1%, most of them will try for a while and then give up, (give up meaning no more IM, apart from Facebook, etc).

And about 10% or that 1%, won't give up for anything!!!

        Or there motto is...

"I won't stop trying, until l get this Internet thing to work!"

Then eventually they do get it to work, after years of the rest of the people above telling them to give up!

Then the rest say, how lucky they are to own the sports car, and the luxury beach house, and travel the world with a Laptop!!!!

No, society is geared towards, people working, to keep the economy strong. Some are ok with that and some detest it!

But one brings substantially greater rewards than the latter!

That's exactly why I said let's keep it logical instead of getting radical. Thanks for pointing that out.
