Hello Warriors,

I am contemplating on purchasing a Generic Phone made in China that is an exact clone of Samsung Galaxy Note
Will cost abt $240 plus shipping to my country in under 10 days via DHL or $189 when I use freeshipping

I have checked out reviews of the phone and there are very satisfied customers out there
an example review and purchasing portal is this

REVIEW: PORTAL : HDC Galaxy Note 2 EX- MTK6577 Dual Core 1.2Ghz 1G Ram 5.4 inch QHD Android 4.0.4 Phone_MOBILE PHONE_Wholesale Android mobile Android tablets by cheap price in FCT only $219.00 big sale

Buying an original in my country past tax and all will be atleast $600

I know some of you might detest this phones because of lack of warranty but I have followed reviews very well and I think it is a good investment
I already have a generic Tablet that does all a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 does minus Camera and Sim {$600] when I bought mine from aliexpress for only $64.99
And I am satisfied with the tablet quality and promise

What do you think?

    Your money

I would not want a generic thing like that because of warranties but technology is pretty robust these days and it probably came from the same factory anyway.

Why not buy a different phone that you can get locally for around the same price?

I've seen people purchase things like this before, it seems like a great idea at first, saving you some money....but then when it arrives and it doesn't do as advertised, or it does but not very well, your kind stuck. Plus mailing back to China is expensive.

My iPhone works out at $200 more than the price you quoted, so its not all bad. When it comes to fakes/copies/clones and so on I always say this - If you cant afford something, thats life, go without. Don't 'cheapen' yourself and buy a fake/copy.

However, as others have posted its your money - spend it how YOU please.

I advice you not to buy unbranded cloned Chinese phones. Some of these phones are manufactured without considering safety instructions.

When you buy a "real" phone from a top brand you are paying for reliability, stability, and piece of mind knowing that i will not actually give you cancer.

China phone quality is very bad, cheap but hardware and software is very loose. Beside Brand is always fine and steady, I like Brand such as Nokia, I phone, Sony Ericsson, Black berry, HTC etc.

*holds hand up* Well, I didn't own it, I just used a friends.

The touch screen was VERY un-responsive, and the phone itself felt the same - slow and buggy.

The 'android store' or whatever it was, was basically full of random Chinese books and so on, I don't know exactly what they were since it was all in Chinese. It also couldn't hold a WiFi connection, dropping out every few minutes or so.

All in all a waste of time and money. Which is why I advised my friend to steer clear, but he had to ignore me. Around 2 hours after the phone arrived, he went out and purchased the 'real thing'.

I really don't know why they are such poor quality since most of them originate from within the same factory?

Same can be said for fake clothes, they are usually a lot smaller, you can't really find true 1:1 copies (always some differences) and when washed they fall to pieces or shrink even more.

I never understood why people wear fake clothes, you may as well buy unbranded clothes, you know the generic, plain items of clothing that cost the same or are actually usually cheaper than buying the fakes?

To me, fake clothes/items in general just scream out "I follow the latest trends/fashion that the media says I MUST BUY, but I can't afford them, so instead of accepting that fact, I'll buy a cheap knock-off hoping that nobody notices, so I can fit in with everyone else around me".

      Just my 2¢

You asked if anyone had ever used a non branded phone, I simply replied with the experience I had with it.

I know things are maybe different in China itself, with them actually having the fake Apple stores, so the quality sold there may be different to what ends up overhere, but don't forget there is no copyright law in China like we have.

Also, you talked about your clothes and so on all being fakes, but I've seen the prices for branded items in China, they are stupid expensive which is why the locals go outside of China to buy their goods (and probably why you buy the fakes).

          Just saying.

i thought i said 'bought', not used for 2 minutes before passing judgement

i once went to buy a dvd player, still working after 6 years and was asked what brand i would like it labelled, same for my fony - fake sony - netbook - complete with pirate software - still going after 3 years, i could choose hp dell sony, maybe a few others i forget, and a better range of colours - cheap too

phonewise, my lg and samsung have never missed a beat, although it was difficult, by no means impossible, to get a new battery locally

my fake yellow ferrari phone will not download photos, so i bought a fake yellow nikon, which matches my fake yellow ferrari shorts, shirts, shoes and track suits - pity china do not manufacture fake yellow ferraris, but they do make a very yellow good mini

for the record when i wanted a new dslr nikon, - not yellow, but red camera armour casing - i went to south korea to buy it

            i like chinese

Whatever, its your money do what you want.

I on the other hand go into the real store and buy the real thing, because I can afford to do so. Why would I cheapen myself by buying counterfeit products, when like i already said - I can afford the genuine article.

You did say 'bought'. My friend purchased it, and came to the same conclusion I did. Buyers have the right to do that, because as they say - the buyer/customers always right.

              Have a nice day

Josh Monroe said it what I wanted to say. I had a relative having that Iphone clone or whatever and the screen is unresponsive. You get things done hardly. But maybe they may have improved it - Try it first in local shops (I believe it is available locally too).

I've bought and used several Chinese clones and they've all worked great so far. I bought my kids android tablets from China for Christmas for only $60 including shipping. They are very responsive - especially if you root them. Plus they have a video camera, wifi, HDMI and much more. I found a similar tablet here for $179.

The good thing about Chinese products is the price. If you get a bad one - who cares - because you could buy 2 or 3 of them and still pay less than the comparable name brand.

There was no way I was going to let my kids run around w/ a $200 tablet. At $60 I don't care as much. - And they've been using them non-stop since Christmas day.

No need to fight over it... whether you like it or not - most of your "genuine articles" are still made by the Chinese.

    Exact clone, my ass.

The body looks like the Galaxy Note, and that's about the extent of the similarities between the two.

The clone doesn't have S Pen functionality like the Samsung Galaxy Note, along with all the applications that go with it.

The clone has a QHD display (960x540), which is not bad, but it's not the same as the Galaxy Note's WXGA (1280x800) screen.

The clone has 4 GB internal memory compared to the Galaxy Note's 16 GB.

Every feature of these two phones, from the battery to the processor, to the camera, is going to differ in quality. Do you think a $240 knock off is going to come close in quality to the $600 original?

If you want it, go for it. Just don't expect it to be a "clone" in terms of anything but appearance.

It is important to know that there are 3 types of cheap made in China phones.

    1. Excess identical phones made by the OEM or subcontractor that somehow got onto the market. By and large, these are as good as the original phone but without warranty.

    2. Purpose fakes - these are complete fakes of real branded phones and are therefore the dangerous to buy.

    3. Real China branded phones - the quality varies considerably. But a few brands such as Lenovo or Huawei can compete with the best.

Dont waste your money, you will soon regret it and wish you had the real thing, and that thing will have no resale value. Buy yourself a Nexus 4, cheap and an excellent phone which you can sell on easily with a strong residual value once your done.
