5 Year Old Girl Suspended: 'terroristic threatening' after chatting about 'bubble gun'...

This is ridiculousness. Poor kids in these days...

A girl from Pennsylvania was suspended for terroristic threatening after the 5-year-old told another girl she was going to shoot her with her pink toy gun. The pink bubble gun blows soapy bubbles when used and was not on the kindergartner who has never used a real gun in her life. The young girl was originally suspended for ten days.

Saw that in the news - proof that educators should be required to pass a test for "common sense".

There is "zero tolerance" ...and then there's just plain stupid.

Stupidity plus tramatizing the child for nothing. What a great country we live in now.

People need to just yank their kids out of public schools and say "no more of this shit" until they stop. There are plenty of people in each community that can help home school kids. They are more healthily socialized when socialized via home school groups rather than US GOV indoctrination, too. If we don't fight to stay free, we won't.

At one time the government had so many rules that made it almost impossible to home school your own children. From what I understand though that is one area we have made progress in. I know numerous people that are currently home schooling their children, several here on the WF.

They have TRIED to stop home schooling but, more and more, it seems to be the ONLY option, so citizens have fought things at every turn! The US now has a new standard that they are planning to have NATIONWIDE, and maybe the PLANET(As I recall, it is based on UN requests). It has propaganda, and apparently does away with grades, etc...

As for confiscating? I once had this neat little apple corer. I cored in apple with it at lunch and this "teacher" confiscated it claiming it was dangerous and told me I would get it later. I never did! That was over 40 years ago, and I still remember the whole event, what she looked like, etc...

Wow! Didn't know that was allowed. Do you need certain qualifications in order to home school your own children, or can any adult do it?

I have no idea the qualifications/requirements nowadays. It was over 30 years ago I was looking into it as an option. Sorry.

Each state is different, so there must be 50 ways to school your child.

In Idaho, there are no qualifications for the parent as an educator, but the student does have to meet the attendance and testing requirements mandated by the legislature for all students. Idaho actually has a 'public' homeschool program that provides loaner computers and subsidizes internet access to the online curriculum.

We homeschooled our kids until they hit high-school age; then they went to a private Seventh-day Adventist academy (the same people who run Loma Linda University, a premier health-sciences university, and also run Loma Linda University Medical Center, well-known for its advances in neonatal and pediatric medicine).

There is just too much Mexican/Latino gang activity in the public schools around here to have even considered sending them there.

Agree. If there's a risk that your children get involved in gang activities, keep'em home and teach them some good old strict discipline. Besides, when you homeschool them, they'll also learn some common sense which they won't learn from public schools.

Times sure have changed. When my dad was 12 years old, all of the kids in his school were allowed to wear costumes to school on Halloween. My Dad's costume? A hunter. He wore hunting clothes to school and brought his .22 rifle. Nobody thought anything of it.

I did something similar on a elementary school carnival in 1999 or 2000 when I was 8-9 years old. I brought a plumbed Colt 1911 45. The teacher who watched us saw it and said to me: "Cool gun you have there Jimmy!"

But if some kids had done that today, I guess it would have been on the national news...

  • Yeah but it's not the schools fault totally as they are always getting in trouble for not doing more And being blamed for bullying so allot of times there hands are tied by the demands of other parents

And the comment she made was kind of twisted maybe she traumatized the other girl

That sounds like the world is going "mad." How must the parents feel and how do you explain to one so young what she has done to be sent home from school.

I think it should have been totally examined. The problem there are children being bullied younger and younger - but I think and investigation would have given a complete picture.

The cps entered my daughters home with no court order when she WASNT EVEN THERE, and took her children from her mothers house across the street who was babysitting, based on no evidence, only allegations, with no exigent circumstances, and no signed judges order.... violating 4 of her civil liberties in the process, at the time she was pregnant with another child, who 8 months later they confiscated with no warrant, no exigent circumstances, no signed judges order...

They coerced her, under the color of law, to sign a document (case plan) with no lawyer present, which she didnt know at the time was basically an "admission of guilt", while she thought she was just signing something to get her children released to her.

Upon the unconstitutional and highly illegal act of abducting the newborn child...They even lied and told another judge that the previous one had terminated her rights, when he hadnt, in order to justify it, and when they were caught lying, they said to that judge "Well its just a matter of paperwork" stating that (on record), other the judge had told the prosecutor in passing what his decision was (a year ahead of the decision being made which constitutes exparte communication- a violation of the Judicial code) , and the presiding judge let them keep the child anyway.

When speaking up to claim our constitutional rights, we were shot down by the judge who said and I quote "We are not here to argue the law"... basing everything on preponderance of evidence which amounted to no evidence, only a list of allegations.

These courts do whatever they want, and so I agree with Kim, "What a wonderful country we live in".

Now , unless there is an appeal, which there may not be because the court records have been manipulated, documents redrafted and backadated... the local goverment where the kids are will make about 5 million dollars over the next 18 years.

I do not believe in justice in America, and I believe our constitution is no more valuable than the paper its written on.

InsominiaMusicGroup, I am a parent and it is the school system and local governments fault for caving in to stupid people.Common sense isn't gone,Evberyone is just afraid of using it.
    PC is BS.
My kids are grown but if anything like this had happened to mine or anyone else's kid back then I would have been protesting with the kid's parents.
    John is right.
The government ,the courts, the social service system has too much power and are corrupt beyond belief.
America is almost unrecognizable as it is now. People need to start taking notice and demanding change.

Back in the mid 1970's (6 or 7 years old) I used to ride my bicycle 2 blocks to the Village Pantry convenience store, crossing the busiest street in town to buy my dad a pack of smokes. I didn't mind, I always spent the change on candy, lol. Nowadays they would lock your azz up for something like that.

    The 70's were awesome.

Personally I think it would suck to be a kid in today's world, it resembles a prison more than a childhood. I couldn't even imagine having to walk through a metal detector just to enter school. Armed police in school. Crazy times we live in, crazy...

I did the same here in the late 90's when I was 7-8 years old. The only criterion to buy smoke was that I had to have a written note from one of my parents. :p

But now it's almost illegal to buy something which contains tobacco even if you're a adult...

And something else I remember from the 90's was that kids could buy Oliver Twist "chewing" tobacco. They were actually lying next the chocolates and the other candys in the stores so the kids could easily find them! I remember that if you had a Oliver Twist box in your pocket, you was one of the cool kids.

And what did we do for fun? We played with air rifles, firecrackers and slingshoots. But now non of these things are legal here! To own a air rifle you must have a freaking gun license(?!), and if you get caught with a slingshot by the police (it's enough that you have a old one laying on your loft), you'll be charged for carrying or owning an illegal weapon... And the firecrackers is of course banned (fireworks too...) because you can get "hurt". Well, you can get hurt by climbing up in a tree and jump down too. Are they going to cut down all the trees' and ban them because of that?

Ha, ha, little things like that were good times.

Lol at the note, like that couldn't be forged. All I would do is take an empty pack of smokes & tell the guy at the register give me one of these (lol).

Funny thing is, I've only tried smoking one cigarette in my life when I was a teenager. I could buy smokes all day long but never tried smoking except that one time. Really all I cared about was getting the change ($$) back from buying the smokes. Now that I think about it, I was a cheap SOB.

Well, I was in california. Fireworks, at least in a lot of California, were first ANY TYPE, nearly ANYWHERE! THEN, they only required that they be "SAFE AND SANE". SAS was basically a special certification they had to get. So many of the old fireworks were ILLEGAL! THEN, they became fully ILLEGAL! If you want to see fireworks, go to a university or something where they are setting them off.

I moved to indiana and HERE and two or three other states around here are advertising fireworks for much of the year EVEN ON THE FREEWAYS! I don't know if there is ANY requirement. And you can shoot them almost anywhere. There IS supposed to be only like 1-2 months you can set them off, but it seems that a lot don't comply. I don't need to buy any fireworks to see them, as neighbors all over shoot them off.

I'm unsure about slingshots and air rifles, but they aren't allowed in schools. There at least USED to be, at least in some areas, a law that said they couldn't look like guns. Some police have actually KILLED kids for having such weapons. NOT because they had the toys, but because they looked REAL. But you can buy them in stores. Walmart sells them here.

As for cigarettes and all, they used to be freely available, but now, as I recall, you can get into trouble buying them for a minor. I BELIEVE 18 is legal. For alcoholic beverages and gambling, BTW, as well as other things, you have to be at least 21. Personally though, I'M ok with THAT.

The closest I was to cigarettes in norway was when I happened to find out that denmark had a SIN TAX on cigarettes and they cost TWICE as much in denmark as they do in germany, about 20 years ago!

Then you should try to buy theme here... You have to pay $15-$17 for a 20-pack. And it's not the stores that set the price, it's the crappy gov who do that as on many other things as gas, alcohol, milk, butter, electricity, etc. There no such thing as a "free market" here so there's no competition that affect the prices. The Swedes even call us for "the last Soviet state"

Like I said, Denmark charges a HIGH tax on cigarettes! OBVIOUSLY, it is over 100% the price of the cigarettes. I never mentioned that they were DANISH cigarettes! So they made them in denmark, shipped them to Germany, Germany charged THEIR taxes on the cigarettes, and it STILL cost only HALF what it does in DENMARK!

I was born around the 60s. I noticed that EVERY decade got noticeably worse. from what I have heard, and seen in movies, etc.... The 60s are probably about when the real degradation started. A lot of changes DID happen in WWII, and maybe the degredation started in the 60s because that was when the first generation since WWII to be born in the aftermath started in the workforce, etc... The 70s were worse, the 80s worse, and the 90s worse that just kind of flowed into the 2000s. We STILL haven't recovered from the 1999 crash, and probably won't because since about the 80s manufacturing has been going down hill. I probably should have seen this coming in the 80s.

I ran a small computer business, and there was an up and coming company that just appeared practically OVERNIGHT! Anyway, I found at one point that all they did was the basic design, and everything else was done OFF SHORE! It had three owners. Two were chinese, and the pakistani was apparently just providing funding and financial guidance, so I guess they had no problems with communication. They sold the company to samsung. But I found out that theirs was NOT an unusual business model. ALSO, around that time, tech support VANISHED! Many products no longer had schematics, etc...

I could make a whole list of things we could do back then.
    I turned 16 in 1970.
Even in the 60s weren't bad. Every boy carried a pocket knife to school, yet no one was afraid of getting stabbed.
As a kid we had fights in the school yard. One or both would get hurt, usually a bloody nose at the minimum, but police weren't called no one went to jail.Usually one or both went to the nurses office then the vice prinicpal's office where we were lectured and then told we had after school detention for the next week.
More serious offenses got us the "board of education" which as anyone from that period knows was a real wooden board, usually with holes drilled in it where you got one or two whacks on your rear end and a call to your parents to come pick you up for an immediate one or two day suspension. But again that was for the real serious stuff. And usually the parents would thank the principal, not threaten a stupid lawsuit.
    I could go on and on,but won't.
As I said earlier,we need to get our country back to some common sense.

You probably get the same newsletter I do. I WISH I could post the funny Glock commercials. Oh well. On one, a guy comes in to rob a bar. He can't very well ask for money, etc...(it would leave him open), so he jumps over the bar. YEAH, he couldn't do THAT either, because it means he could kill himself, or be defenseless for a bit. But almost EVERYONE does it What else CAN he do? Well, he grabs his gun. TOO LATE! Everyone else has their own, AIMED AT HIM. The barkeeper continues mixing a drink, as everything is under control.
