I need help choosing the best Title for a book

Hi all,

I know that I will get some good replies here.
I am writing a book based on fact.
Without going into too much detail, it is based on a serious crime that
a someone I know has been charged with.
The process has gone on for a year. He has had to face a LOT of problems and is stressed to the max.

Anyway, the main issue is that the legal costs leading up to and during the trial are exorbitant. He was actually advised to plead guilty because he doesn't have enough money to cover the cost of pursuing the truth and his innocence.

I find this deeply disturbing and I want to use this book to do something about it.

Anyway, I have 8 titles that I believe are good in some way and I need some opinions.
You may also offer me your own ideas if you have them.
So please help me by voting. I would sincerely appreciate your help.

I thank you all in advance.

    Hi Laurence,

I voted for Is The Justice System Really Just?

My second choice would have been Can You Afford To Be Innocent?

My first choice is because, to me, this title says the most without knowing the story. Plus it's a question title that arouses a measure of curiosity.

It's hard to suggest a title when we don't know the content, but if I could make a punctuation change to one of yours:

    Justice: A Matter of Money

...wouild be my first choice. This title shouts. Anyone interested in that topic would have to pause to investigate what it's about, IMO.

Thanks Dennis. I guess I should have checked the punctuation before posting (and me being a proofreader makes that even worse) I can't seem to edit the poll so it has to remain like that for now. I appreciate your feedback.

I love doing this sort of thing so I'll just throw out a few ideas:

      The High Price of Freedom
One Man's Struggle Against the Cost of Justice

      Pay Your Way to Innocence
How money decides the fate of the accused

      Innocent? Pay Up
      Justice only sees in green.

      Guilty Until Proven Rich
      How wealth determines innocence

      It's Cheaper to Plead Guilty
Could you afford to prove your innocence?

I'll add to it if I can think of any more.

That's funny. Before I read that Shadowflux title, I was thinking of:

        Innocent Until Proven Broke

'How Justice Killed My Life' - Simply because it sound dramatic and reflects the justice system very well if you are the innocent.

How about Can You Afford The Price Of Innocence?

Maybe a byline of Pay Up or Lock Up

Laurence - the story is really compelling - the titles with all due respect are flat - especially when put up against a story like that!

(shadowflux somehow says similar things but in a more exciting way).

(remember you have to grab them in the first few seconds!)

Best of luck with your book. Very worthy cause.

Be sure to put him in touch with the innocence project - they have saved a lot of people's bacon over the years - they are very committed once they get wind of someone being unjustly convicted...

... and maybe before that happens he can get some hints

    The Innocence Project - Home

I always say Justice is Blind because sometimes really innocent people have their lives ruined - and some even do hard time before they can prove it.

... while so many crooks have free rein because of some loophole or somebody spoke out of turn and it is thrown out.

I know 'justice is blind' is supposed to mean it is the same for everybody ('equal justice under the law') -

but no - it is far too often injustice that prevails in our weird system of 'justice' -

hence justice is blind (can't see).

I had the same conclusion as Dennis. uh...great minds think alike.

I really like one of them suggested by Shadowflux, too, though:

    Guilty Until Proven Rich
    How wealth determines innocence
