This is a GIVEN! It has been going on for hundreds of years. HECK, Windows stole employees from DEC! It was once considered a "legal" way to steal technology. It certainly IS one of the ore covert ways. BUT, as I said earlier, in another thread, employees are FORBIDDEN to give out such info. Still, one way or another, it is useful.

    Kind of silly IMO.

I mean what person sends out a single resume in their lifetime?

Who's to say Palm didn't find an online resume, most people have at least 1 online resume or contact page, even If it's something like Linkedin in 2013. By creating an online resume/portfolio your essentially asking to be solicited by a prospective employer.

Apparently headhunters make a lot of money just doing that kind of thing,

    poaching other companies' employees, lol.

Out of curiosity, what would prevent palm in this case just setting up a number of shell companies, and funnel the poached employees' work through this? Apple would be none the wiser.

Actually, that is NOT legal! If palm created a commpany it had even 5% ownership in it, BY LAW, they have to declare it! If they spun off such a company, BY LAW, they must declare it. etc.... BESIDES, NOBODY cares if someone hires a given person. They care about the TECHNOLOGY! If Apple sees it, and can't tie it to themselves AT ALL, they will STILL SUE!

Look at DECs runins with INTEL! They sued intel and intel sued them, and I don't think that was employee related.
