About Compressing pdf files.
What method, software OR online service is the best resource to compress a pdf file for FREE. Conversion should not place watermark of converting resource on pdf file.
Pdf files could be full image based or may contain text only OR text+images both.
I want to use google document viewer to provide online reading for these books so i need to reduce size to less than 25 MB. But i want it to be reduce as much as i can so that loading time also enhances. So 5 to 10 MB will be fine.

I have tried several, an extension to Microsoft Word, l think that it was called Modzilla, or something like that is pretty good. You only get it for about a month, then it will cost you about $150 to buy!!!

But by far the best of the best in regards to a free one is Openoffice, (Google it) it transfers links as well as everything else, and the settings can be a bit tricky and the formatting tends to go out of whack when you are using a word file in Openoffice, but it's very good for PDF conversions.

I got sick of loading up OO, (OpenOffice) and instead permanently put it on my PC, with MW on my Laptop, so when l need to convert a Word file to PDF, l just need to transfer the file over to my PC, go through some steps, and there it is!!!

Also use Foxit reader when converting OO files to PDF, Adobe doens't work as well, and it may require some fidding to get your PDF, but once you have figured it out, then creating PDF,s is quick and easy!

AS I recall, there IS a method to INTERNALLY compress a file. It should be an adobe option. I'm not sure how well supported it is though. There are some LOSSY ways to reduce size, but the best way there is to preoptimize components, like graphics.

The OP makes it clear that the question is not about converting, but compressing.

I use 1shopping cart for my check out process. I sell eProducts and I upload the folder to the shopping cart so when someone buys they are automatically sent to the download page. The largest file amount is 25mb to upload, however I have compressed file sizes larger and I cant get them to upload. Is there anyway to compress them smaller so I can upload them to my shopping cart for cheap and easy??

    thanks
