I listened to it three times! Also watched the train station video all the way through and loved it!

The UK Idol also had Paul Potts with his amazing voice. This is the first year I've seen anyone on the US Idol that even came close to the talent that seem to appear on the UK version.

The UK Idol often has someone who doesn't look like a star but shows a huge talent. In the US they often look like stars but are "good singers" - not outstanding. Adam Lambert has both looks and talent this year - without him the US version would be dull.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Anyone wondering where to find the video being referred to here, go to the link Ken provides above and scroll down a bit, select the Susan Boyle video.

Sad truth of it is, there's a chance Susan may not be chosen as Britains next idol simply because of her looks. (She's definitely sassy enough!) Simon Cowell and his cohorts are looking for marketability, not just talent. (That's why American Idol winners are the 'pretty people', even though their talent might border on mediocre.)

She can definitely sing. But will that be enough to land her a recording contract? Perhaps, if they don't want her to make personal appearances.

I sincerely hope this is not the case but my instincts tell me otherwise. It's all about the money.

I just read she's being offered a recording contract whether she wins or not.

    Incredibly moving voice.

    A recording contract?! Excellent!

Paul Potts sold cell phones for a living when his friends (I think I have that right) began pestering him to apply for Britains Got Talent.

So he did and he WON! And his life has changed for the better.

That is what can happen when people stop doubting, when they begin to have confidence in themselves and just go for it. (I think that applies to internet marketing as well.)

Looks she not unemployed any more! Good for her.

Susan is the absolute cuttest. I love her voice. I hope she goes a long way. She has awesome talent.

On the contrary, I don't think all idol winners are picked because of their looks. Reuben and the gray haired guy weren't all that. I didn't think so anyway.

That's true - I haven't watched idol all that long. Think Reuban was the first time I had seen it - he had talent. The gray haired guy winning I never understood. Some of the runners-up have surpassed the careers of the winners. Had to change the channel tonight when Cyrus was on - yuck, the girl screeches.

I've just never seen a really surprising talent on the US version as seems to occur on the UK show. Maybe next year...

In the UK, the newspapers are concentrating on the claim that she is a "47 year old virgin who has never kissed" rather than being unemployed.

Just had the finals of Australia's Got Talent last night. We'll find out who wins next Wednesday, but these two youngsters are both in with a good chance.

This lad is 12 years old:

    And, this lad is 15.

What a future for both of them, whether or not they win the $250k!

10-year-old recording of standard 'Cry Me A River', by Susan Boyle.

Close your eyes and imagine this voice coming from that face. Amazing. It's like the two just couldn't possibly be one and the same.

    Very good job, Susan.
