I got an idea. Why don't we get Bill Gates to pay for it. He has or at least had Billions. People like to help. Do what you can. Even if you are broke you can wish her well. Hell I'm so broke I can't pay attention, but I am better off than she is health wise and I can always find a few dollars for something like this. Go without that artery clogging Big Mac one day. Make a balogna sandwich and donate $5. Jim

Please keep us updated on how it turns out. I just donated and will be sending this to my mom (she gives to St. Jude's so I know she'll want to help out). I can't imagine what her and her parents are going through. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hey,
I know a lot of people ask whether it is appropriate to post these kinds of things in the main forum etc. And I know everyone has struggles and problems they need help with, and if they all posted here, we'd never get down to any business, but..... I don't really care about that anymore. I used to think about it, but I absolutely love the fact that the warriors have helped so many people and continue to do so. I think it is a great reflection on the people that hang out here that people come here to make these kinds of appeals, and I think it is pretty cool Mike decided to visit this place with his appeal as well. I am donating and hope I can do my little bit. I'll Twitter hard these next few days. I'm rooting for Macy and her family. As a side note, I often wonder if it would be benficial to have a section of the forum where people could ask for help, but it probably wouldn't get the required readership to make it worthwhile. Hmmmm. Never mind, I am just thinking out loud here. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes to the family. Lets hit the big 10k for them! |

Relax guys, I'm just trying to understand why Mike Filsaime is starting this thread here. As we all know, there are thousands of children suffering with cancer. But when someone starting a post like this it's getting closer to the mind. I just ask myself the question "Do I want to help this girl, or do I want to help all of them? It's just a little weird that 1 girl is getting help and that thousands other children still have to suffer...
I know a lot of you guys think I'm sounding skeptical and think I'm a bad person. But that's not the case. I'm just trying to understand why Mike is trying to help just 1 girl instead of "generating money" for more then 1 person. That said,,, why is it wrong trying to understand why Mike is posting this here? I'm sure a lot of warriors have the same doubts but are to scared to post here... (but that's an other story) Dennis |

I assure you that I am perfectly relaxed. I am not sure why you think people have the same doubts but I highly doubt it. In fact, if you think I am scared to post than you didn't see some of my others posts in this thread. There doesn't need to be some underlying motives. Someone brought his attention to this girl and he wanted to help by passing it along to others. He posted on this forum because he knew a lot of us have helped others out and would pony up for this charming young woman. Why does helping one girl have to go towards helping all the people that have cancer in this world? Seriously, I think you are making a big deal out of nothing here. If you don't want to help this girl than help any other person you want. You don't need to donate. You can start your own charity if you choose to. Good luck with it. I am especially interested in why you think anyone can help them all? Again, you have no idea what other charities Mike or anybody else on this forum are helping.

As much as we'd all like to - we can't help everyone. Mike is a human being and a caring person - this particular young girls situation came to his attention, and knowing that whatever else he can do - sharing the knowledge of a real person in need of help in a place such as this WILL result in extra help being given. I know this is a marketing forum and the aim is to gather and talk about making money, but there's more to life than making money - there's WHY you want to make money. For most people this comes down to: 1 - To remove money worries or problems associated with a lack of money. 2 - To feel like you've created value with your life (whatever you think about money, aquiring it isn't a bad measure of whether you've taken action and done something to help others - you usually make money by giving people something they want or need). 3 - To be able to help others. This is the particular reason that suits this thread. We all want to make money, but a lot of warriors have that desire because having more resources equates to being able to help more people. In situations like this one with Macy, donating money literally will make a difference - so it's natural for Mike to think that sharing this information here will undoubtedly end up being read by people that want to help. If you can afford to send $100 - that won't save everyone in need, but it WILL make a difference to this one young girl. So - the question is - Why WOULDN'T MIKE think sharing this made sense? If you've been a member here for any amount of time you'll have seen some idiots come and go and sometimes there are people who have no respect for others at all and are insensitive enough to make offensive remarks in situations where it's completely out of order. Mike knows this and obviously some part of him felt the need to try and avoid that type of poison affecting this thread. If you're looking for problems you can always find them, so even that comment in his post was enough for some people to hook on to. It had the opposite effect to the desired one. but that's life so let's just get on with helping the girl. It's a bit of a shame to have a thread which has such a simple and pure cause end up having more ranting about motives and mindsets than posts from people helping. These things are optional - if you don't want to help, just click your Back button - there's no need to try and find demons where there are none. Andy

We both don't know why Filsaime started this thread here. We only have our idea's about it. We can discuss about this for days but it won't help this girl. So I will stop posting reply's here and donate a nice amount of money because I really care. Let's hope everything is going well. Regards, Dennis

Donation sent, courtesy of my oldest son. I sat in the PICU with my son 8 years ago and have seen the effects of losing a child on other parents there. Thankfully, 8 years later my son is alive and well.
He has to donate part of his allowance and this month this is his donation. Lets keep the gifts going! peace, --Jack and Matthew Tackett |

And if this happens to be a fraud (which I dont think it is, but... ) that won't stop me from donating the next time around. |

Understood Boomer Esiason started a whole organization on Systic Fibrosis
Not individual...but started a whole "niche" However when someone wants to help someone why question the motives? We are all on earth to serve others, one thing I do is much volunteer work on my community. To me this is more personal as I give of myself. |

Having lost my 20 year old sister to cancer in 1997, this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I think for the people that don't want to donate should do just that, not donate and keep the thread on topic. Having personally witnessed Mike Filsaime help many people behind-the-scenes in this very forum is more than enough for me to donate for this cause and then some.
RoD P.S. The thank you page was a nice surprise and well done. I hope there will be many more smiles in this young lady's future. |

The internet gives us all a lot of choices. I believe giving to real causes, like this one, is an important one that we all need to make. Working in numbers (meaning the group of readers here) is a great way to leverage our influence to help people who really need it.
If you're not sure about giving, pick a product of mine, from my signature below and send the amount for it as a donation, then send me a pm and I'll send you my product for free. Let's do something good together. Sincerely, ~Mike Cowles. <>< |

Everyone, I am fairly new around here. But I just want to point out that I think it is pretty disgusting that people are calling out Mike Filsaime for trying to do a good deed.
Sure, any big-name marketer wants to have a good reputation and come off looking like "one of the good guys" But just because he is "Mike Filsaime" as opposed to "Internet Marketer #314321" does not mean we should all of a sudden question his motives. I don't know Mike Filsaime from Adam, never met the guy. Sure I bought BFM 2.0 like everyone else, but I don't know him personally. But I can tell you that getting on somebodies case because they are trying to use their public platform to help either 1 or 10 or 10,000 people, is just classless and rude. I am not trying to offend anyone in this thread that may have posted any "negative" or doubtful messages about this young ladies fundraising efforts or the gentleman marketer who set up her site. But I think that you should take a look inside yourself and ask yourself WHY you feel it necessary to try to put doubt and "IT'S A SCAM!!!" type messages in a thread meant to help SAVE THE LIFE OF A YOUNG GIRL. That's just downright awful. I will leave it at that, make my donation, and hope that people will read my message, and instead of instantly turning Flame-Mode on, will instead stop and think about it for a minute. |

Well...
I've donated and signed the guest book too, I trust Mike 100%. Yesterday I was walking past the bus stop near our local mall when a guy asked me for some spare change for the bus... I gave him the coins in my pocket, $3 dollars. I walked into the mall for an hour & a 1/2 or so & when I came out the guy was still asking for money for the bus... Now i train like a demon... I weigh 110 kilos of muscle, (about 240 pounds)... I could've easily knocked this guy out for his dishonesty, (simply coz I cant stand dishonesty) But then i thought otherwise. Money... Some people need it. Some people greed it. I've spent money on useless **** before but all I know is that there COULD be little girl who COULD need a helping hand, it COULD be a scam and you COULD donate $10 Bucks and you COULD get ripped off... or you COULD help save a life. But no need to get all upset about anything... it's only $10 bucks or so? Good luck on your decision to donate. Im sure your decision will be a great one

Here is a small note to member "severt" or maybe some other people that question
why I did this. Last year, Mike Ambrosio, a member of this forum and a member of my team, lost his niece to Cancer. We fought hard to raise money, but unfortunately, the cancer was found too late that all the money in the world could not save her. I watched how this young girl went through so much pain an lost her fight while in her teens. It was devasting to Mike, his sister (the girls mother), their family, and our entire staff. The day she died, it was one of the toughest days I have been through as an Internet Marketer. I felt helpless when she passed and felt horrible for the parents to have to deal with the loss of their child. You ask why don't I just pay for the surgery? Richard Branson is one of the weathiest people in the world. Why does he have VirginUnite ? Why not just give all his money to the charity and not ask others to help. I am not sure why you question why I ask the warriors for help. Why does Branson have a charity? I would prefer not to have made this reply. But for you to think I would do this for my own benefit is very surprising to me. But you just do not know me. Others say I think I am a GOD (in this thread) or say that I am not one which implys maybe I think I am. And I did not think my mention of trolls was out of line in the PS of my post. There are mean people in this world and they find this forum every now and then. It was not to the great warriors, it was keep mean people out that do not know how to bite there tongue when they have bad things to say and there is a life at stake here. I get emails all the time, from veterans, people about to lose their homes, blind and deaf and handicap. How / if I help those people is my business. But I never go a tweet "I just did this and that" for my own benefit. I am not going to talk about the many charities I donate too. I am not looking for credit. I do what I can. I thinking giving back is very important. But I do not make it a point to let the world know when I do it. Getting a letter from a kid in Africa with a picture is all the reward I need. Could I pay for this charity myself. I could yes. And I made a promise to the family that I would do EVERYTHING I can to get them to the goal and promised them, no matter what, they would hit it. If I had to doante any shortcomings I would. I did reach out to my best friends with a personal email. They did donate. One of them $3000. I donated my self 2 x. You may have heard the story about the Gril and her father and the Starfish on the beach. They walk on the beach and they see thousands of beached starfish. The young girl picks one up and throws it BACK in the water. The father asks her "Why did you do that? There are thousands. You think that will make a difference?" She replied "It will make a difference to that one!" the point is, we can not save the world. But we can make a difference to one person. On wonderful human act at a time. I know in my heart, there are great wonderful people in this forum that would rather I reached out to them then do this all by myself. Many people find great reward in helping people that can not help them selves. I requested if you could not donate, to tweet and pray and spread the word. We can ALL help. So rather than question my motives. Just donate and send move on. Do you really need to know what my motives are? I saw a young girl lose a battle with cancer last year. If there is anything I can do to prevent that, I will. Even for a total stranger. It is my goal to meet her. She is just so happy that many of you helped. That is the medicine she needs. Not just the money, but to know people are rallying for her to get well. That is 1 Million times better than a paid in full donation my friend. Please, for a minute, don't let yourself be so blinded that I would do such a thing for personal branding. That is disgusting and it saddens me. Honestly. When I got a DM in twitter about this. I saw the page and I was taken over completely. I had instant reminders of the page Mike A made for his niece. I instantly said "Not this time!!" and I knew reaching out to my friends and fellow warriors was the right thing to do and I acted on it. God bless her and all of you that did what you could, even in prayer to help this young kid. Again, you guys are wonderful and I am sorry for this post here. It is not about me and I would prefer no one replies on this part. I just needed to address this for some that questioned why I would do this for a young girl I do not even know. The answer is, "The same reason many of you did. It is the right thing to do." Mike Filsaime - GO MACY! |

I don't have much money to send, unlike other warriros in the forum
... but definitely, me, my family and our friends at church will include Macy in our prayers. To those who have doubts, who think this is scam, fraud, whatever you call it, let me share the words of one of our elders... "It does not matter what they do with our donation, they will be the one to hold responsible when they face the Father in heaven. For as far as we are concerned, we extended our help from our heart." Get well soon, Macy!

I have another reason why Mike brought this to the forum, and to others for help.
The reason is that Mike is a leader. One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn as a leader is that "doing it myself" is actually almost always the wrong action. It's often the easiest thing to do, but it has ramifications beyond the simple act that impact you, your teams, and others for some time to come. Opportunities like this allow many things to happen for the individuals and for the community as a whole that would not happen if leaders simply did it themselves and did not bring these opportunities to their communities (tribes, followers, teams). I suspect this is something of a second nature to a guy like mike. I still struggle with it myself. |

Mike, while this part of the forum might not generally be the "right" place for something like this as far as the rules are concerned.. I think you're doing the right thing and I hope this post stays here where it'll get as much attention as possible. I'll definitely tweet about this and I'll be looking into what I can afford to donate in the next couple days. It might not be much, but I know (again from personal experience) that every little bit counts. I'll be keeping Macy and her family in my prayers and hoping for the best. In a way, by helping this one girl you may be helping all of them. There are organizations with funds to help people in these kinds of situations, but those funds are limited. By making a donation you're freeing up those funds to be used elsewhere. But, if you'd like more directly to help the thousands of other people who are suffering.. feel free to also make donations to worthy causes like the Make A Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, Lance Armstrong Foundation (they put a lot of money into cancer research, and also lobby Congress to do the same), St. Jude, etc.

When my niece was diagnosed with colon cancer at 17 years old (March '08), after the initial shock wore down a bit, I thought about ways to help my sister and my niece from a financial standpoint. I thought long and hard about coming here to the WF, in which I have been an active member since the old UniSol forum back in 99 or 2000.
Ultimately, I decided not to for a few reasons... - My sister and her husband were fortunate to have fantastic insurance - They live in a community that from the first day rallied everyone they could in support, in the form of fundraising dinners, carnival (yes - a whole carnival with rides and everything) and much more. - They found the local childrens hospital had an excellent program which helped them in many ways too. I knew if I posted here, at some point someone would come and "call me out" in some form, and I would have to prove my niece's existence, or have my sister post, or some such. I am all for due diligence, but I felt it would not be worth it for my sister, who was already in the heat of battle with getting answers for my niece. Instead, I held a sale and gave her the procedes. Even in the sale, I only mentioned my niece in the P.S. of the sales letter as I didn't want any negative energy. When the generous people at MikeFilsaime.com Inc donated, Mike matched every dollar. My niece passed on December 11th and my family still feels the loss greatly. It seemed her entire senior class, teachers, friends as well as family came to her funeral. Our precession shut down our local 4 lane highway because there were so many cars. Because I know what Macy's family is going through, I hope and pray that they get every cent they need so they can focus their energy on Macy because she needs it. Cancer sucks. Cancer kills. My prayers are with Macy and her family - as are the prayers of my sister and her family. Mike |

Thank you so much Warrior Forum members!!!!! I talked with Macy tonight and she was checked out of the Hospital and at home. You guys have lifted the spirits of her and her parents. There is an evident stress relief visible in her parents face as they have been worried about their daughter and the mounting expenses. Since I told them about you guys and what you are doing, they have been able to focus their energy more toward Macy and less toward worries of how they are going to pay for everything she needs.
Macy is my 2nd Cousin. Please take this as a thank you from her family. They do not know much about the internet but they have seen Macy's web page. When Macy is feeling better, I am going to sit down with them to show her this forum so they can see what everyone has done to help. If you are here and you are saying I would love to help but I don't have the money. No worries.... Just visit Macy's website and sign her guestbook an some encouraging message.... If you are a prayer warrior Pray for Macy and her family.... If you are on Twitter "Tweet"... There are many other ways you can help Macy if you are not in a situation to where you can donate funds. Her guest book is a great place to give her a message that will lift her up. Guys, Thank you again for your help. I have not updated the image of the meter since 7:30 PM EST. but I want you know that you guys have helped raise $6,279.89. The goal is 10k and not too far away.. |

Im in and did a RT - The rest of you can help a littel too.
All the best. [quote=mikefilsaime;702735]MODS - if this is does not belong here. I 100% understand. Allen, thanks for letting this ride if it can. Hey guys, in tough times, I know millions need a helping hand and I have never been one for posting in forums for people in dire straights. But, with that said... This story has touched my heart. A total stranger reached out to me to donate for a young girl that is 15 and has cancer. She needs money for treatment that can save her life. Life is precious and we Warriors can help save her life. She does not need much to be raised to get her treatment. I promised the family today that I would reach out to the people I think will so what they can, no matter how small, to help. Her name is Macy Johns. Please see what you can do to help this young beautiful girl. She is counting on us. Even if it is $10. $100 even better. $1000 if you are blessed to be in that position. And if money is tight, hey, I have been there too but there are ways to help. Add it to your sig file for a few days. Add it to your outlook. Send a tweet. YOU can make a difference. The website is here. |

At least lets do $10,999.99 which I think is the Legal Amount that the IRS cant touch if it is a Gift. Someone correct me if I am wrong ?? |
