Just watched this documentary on BBC2 - The Brain Doctors - Against The Odds.

If you're at all squeamish do NOT watch this or if you easily get upset watching emotionally upsetting scenes of a medical nature, again, please do NOT watch this. Only at the very end of the documentary is one particular scene which some viewers might find particularly upsetting.

Having said that, this is a fascinating insight into the John Radcliffe Hospital located in the United Kingdom. Being that this is the UK obviously near all health care treatment is completely free of charge courtesy of the NHS (National Health Service).

Although the NHS and our system here may come in for some criticism from people living in other parts of the world and the system certainly has it's faults, for the most part the doctors and nurses working in the NHS do a wonderful job of looking after us when we fall seriously ill.

A couple of years ago for example, I was rushed into hospital for an emergency operation, the very first time in my life I've been ill and I was absolutely amazed at the incredible high quality care which was provided to me.
