I wrote a resume in colored crayons once - blue pink green, etc. I got that job. I also used to have a font called Flintstone and used a pink/grey granite brique paper and that went over real well, too.

It's called creativity and packaging. Those two things, even with lackluster skills, will still get a person pretty far.
