Windows 8 Is Driving Me Up The F&%*ing Wall!

I bought a new ASUS laptop with windows 8. I bought it in Amsterdam so the language is Dutch.

I've been trying (for 2 days now) to install the English GB language pack. It just won't install. I flipped through numerous forums and it seems I'm not the only one having this problem. Man, I miss Vista.

This is as far as I get downloading the language pack. I've tried this with U.S English, CA, and U.K. None of them work. It stays like this for hours.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

P.S, WTF have they done to my "Start" button. ffs. This new Metro BS is crap. It might work well for smart phones and tablets, but not for PC.

WOW! English is popular and, last I knew, Dutch had to take it! You would think BOTH languages would ALREADY be installed!

Bravo, some pc's previously had English and Spanish preinstalled on them. On those PCs, the user picks one language or the other, and the one not chosen is wiped off the hard drive after first run.

Do you maybe need to download and reinstall the English language pack?

ETA: I know you said Dutch, but maybe a similar problem?

Don't know if this is of any help....

Another thing to consider if you have to download language packs - are you 32 bit or 64?
