Some people certainly do deserve something worse. However, too many people turn out to have been wrongly convicted.

No one have the right to take another person's life. You can't solve murder with murder, and it won't bring back the ones that's dead. Give'em life-time instead.

Actually, if you look at all that will be history, murder WILL bring back dead people, just not ones that WERE dead. Many go to jail to be there seeing the free medical care, food, and shelter. And several have said it, EVEN WHILE IN JAIL!

The ONLY problem I see is those that feel the need to confess, and aren't guilty, those that are coerced into it, and those merely falsely accused.

I used to think murderers should die in the same way they killed their victims. Would that be torture...or justice?

Being able to kill someone via the same methods some use to murder -- it would necessitate the society being as sick in the head as the murderer.....and I don't like the thought of having people running around who are that severely sociopathic. The idea of putting people to death for murder is because they are not safe to have on the planet -- it's not to see if we can match the sickness in the head of the person who commits the murder.

Worse than death? Acceptance of torture takes us right back to the dark ages. If someone is sick in the head enough to actually be a danger - it's just as sick to abuse them to death. If that is how sick our societies have become, we need to drive ourselves to extinction so everything else on this planet can survive without having to worry about being flayed alive by some sick ass human being. We, in the US, just burned a man alive without trial. I think we've run our course on this planet. We're a flawed species. VERY flawed.

Deserving it is not the same as giving it.

  • "Drawn and Quartered"... has a nice 'ring' to it -

Actually, in Japan, a prisoner who has been sentenced to death is not notified when it will be until the day of the execution...so you never really know when your number is "up" -

    Kinda keeps you guessing...
