I don't usually like to post about morbid topics, but I just saw a post about this on Facebook and thought it was too important not to share.

There is a drug going around schools that's known as "Strawberry Quick" or "Strawberry Meth". It looks like "Pop Rocks" that kids eat and also smells like strawberries. It comes in other flavors like chocolate, etc.

Please tell your kids not to take any candy from ANYONE - even a class mate, because there's no way to know for sure where they got it.

Please don't take this lightly. This stuff can KILL them!

Talk to your kids right away and tell every parent you know that has school aged kids.

Please pass this on!

  Drugs kill... We know that, this should really be in the off-topic section if I am honest, not to talk down a very serious subject. All parents should have a talk with their kids about drugs when they get to that sort of age when they may become a problem.

  I knew it was a hoax before I even got as far as your post. The language used is classic hoax. "Please pass this on" is the giveaway.
  
  Please guys - if you are going to pass on a shock horror warning about anything - LOOK IT UP FIRST.
  
  These warnings just frighten people unnecessarily.

Ummm... not only is this story false but if you're trying to warn parents to keep made-up drugs from their kids, an internet marketing forum is probably not going to be a great medium for it. :rolleyes:

The OP only had good intentions in posting this. If it was a hoax, well so be it. He wouldn't be the first person to be gullible. I bet we have all fallen for things over the years. But better it be a hoax than the real thing.

At least topics like this do make people more aware they need to be careful about things and that the world we live in today is far too advanced for half the people living in it.

Our population is an aging one. Yet our technology continues to get more and more advanced so you need to be younger and younger to understand it. We really didn't think this through.

  This story was passed around 4-5 years ago - and debunked. It just got passed around again on Facebook....and I have no doubt people are hearing it on news stations.
  
  That sort of tells you how reliable TV news is these days if they are getting their news from Facebook.

If it were just snopes word for it, I'd say watch out (read the disclaimer on snopes,people -PLEASE - they are not an actual "authority" on anything. They pass on a LOT of disinformation mixed with some silly urban legends that make them APPEAR to be authorities).

The truth is - news like this could be truth at any time. Talk to your kids about drugs. Don't wait for the warnings to be real ones before you do that.
