The Perfect Internet Marketing PC with 32Gigs of RAM for $900

Hey Everyone, a lot of us need powerful PC's for what we do in Internet Marketing... Whether that is for running VM's with multiple instances of SE Nuke or for doing HD Video editing. A beefy machine always helps.

Here is a screen shot of one I built for myself. Monitors were not included in this price (I already have a dual monitor setup) but the OS was included.

I really love the Shuttle SH67H3... Couldn't be happier with it! Amazingly quite, can't even hear it running.

(Oh, also note that in my haste I accidently originally ordered it with Laptop memory and later exchanged for desktop memory. Same brand and amount, just make sure it states "desktop")

Hope this helps if anyone is looking to upgrade soon! (I found all of this on Amazon if you couldn't tell from the screen shot).

You went with Windows 7 instead of 8. If those are my only choices when I put mine together, that's what I'll do too. In fact building your own solves the problem of trying to get something with 7.

I Amazoned the Shuttle case and it was interesting. I even like the low key brand name.

I'm doing everything with 2 GB of memory now. That's all I wanted on my laptop for the sake of the battery life. I didn't even know you could put 32 GB in one machine. I probably won't go that high, but at least in a desktop it's not an issue.

When I'm finished traveling and do have a place for a desktop, I'll probably put one together too.

    Where's my screw driver?

I actually built it a couple months ago and definitely was not comfortable enough with Windows 8 yet being able to run all of my software.

I honestly didn't need 32Gigs of RAM either. But that's always a conversation starter... It's like having the truck with the biggest tires right? "Yeeeeah budddy!"

The Shuttle system is liquid cooled. It makes no noise at all. You could put this thing in your living room behind your entertainment system and you wouldn't even know it's there. And it's tiny, so it would fit!

For a VERY long time, the standard intel processor could handle OVER 16GB, and some much more. But the address decoding circuitry, realestate, and sockets take enough space and money, that most simply don't make it available on motherboards. BTW many atoms, and similar processors can only have ONE to FOUR GB!

ALSO, when laptops came out, memory was memory. LAPTOP memory came out to supposedly make it easier and a better form factor. Drives were harder to make and making small and light drives was expensive and they were low quality, so THEY became laptop drives. As for desktops? They USED to have ONE main type of memory with ONE characteristic, and lower was better. But NOW, they have modules with a ton of characteristics. BTW the old LAPTOP drives are now pretty much STANDARD in disktops!
So don't think desktop tells you that much.

At the other end of the scale being that I am but a humble copywriter whose essential tool is Wordpad, having a 'big beefy machine' isn't exactly high on my list of considerations.

Recently on eBay, I bought a computer for the princely sum of £11 ($16.63 USD). 40gig memory. 1GB hard drive. 2.8Ghz processor. DVD player. OS included. Everything works as it should and for my needs, it's fine - pretty 'quick' too.

Actually, I think I paid over the odds since upon going through his completed listings, I noticed quite a few of the same computers with the same spec had been selling for a mere £5 ($7.56 USD) each.

On arrival here in the post I've got to say the SFF desktop actually looks brand new, probably ex corporate stock from about 2005 which likely has never seen the light of day until the moment I unpacked the contents which incidentally included a free mouse, scart lead, and a brand new power lead.

Overall I'm very impressed it. $900+? Stuff that malarkey Nathan!

          Nathan,

That kind of bus speed is attractive.

What's the native video card in the Shuttle?
