Heartbroken----Lost My Pet Today

I had to put my first kitty cat down today. She had an aggressive form of cancer and I could not save her. I said my goodbyes but it still hurts. I had Annie 9 years from a newborn kitty. She was just like a member of the family. My other cat keeps looking for her through the house and it's just killing me. I don't know what to do about that.

    Sorry for your loss.

Your other cat will look for a few days and then should be OK. If they played together a lot you may want to adopt a kitten after a while to keep her busy.

I am sooo sorry. It seems like a bad season for Warrior pets. I know the hurt of missing a beloved pet. It is so unfair they get such limited time, but there isn't a pet owner out there that doesn't know that we will see them again on the other side. I hope you can find room in your heart for a new little silly who needs a loving home and would love to
be a playmate for your other little guy.

    Sorry for your loss.

Glad she is free from a body that isn't working anymore.

I hope you will get a new little friend for you and the other cat in a respectful amount of time so you can put something in the void.

(having said that I vowed never to get another bunny when i had to put mine down at over 10 years old); Its been some years now so I have an amendment and that is no more bunnies unless i have a yard (which may still be never).

So sorry to hear your news. That's very young as well which makes it hurt more. As others have said, as soon as the tears dry, it's as well to get another. It really helps.

    Sorry for the incident.
    But life should go on.
Keep the other cats busy by passing more time with them , so they miss annie a little low.

Sorry for your loss. Other cat will get used to it sooner than you think. I don't think your pet would like to see you grief. If you treated her well during her lifetime your mind should be at peace.

I am sad to hear about your Annie passing. It is hard to let them go after sharing life with them for so many years. My last kitty passed over a few years back and it was hard after being together 17 years.

When he died, a good friend sent me a poem and I have it printed and framed under his picture. I'll post it here for you and maybe it will help you like it did me.

      Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
      To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
      Soon, replied the whiskered angel
      But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
      That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

      Eventually they will understand,
      Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

        Rick,
Thank you for the beautiful poem. In moment's like these when the body is absent, you forget about the spiritual being. Indeed, she will always be with me. I'm just going to miss hearing her snoring under my chair by my bed. She was a good friend.

I understand how you must feel. Bet you have some great memories, huh?

Everything comes and goes and death is a part of life. Without life there would no death, and without death there would be no life. But Annie is merely gone, not dead, for only the body dies.

You saved Annie from a lot of pain and suffering by allowing her to leave her failing body and I think your unselfish actions are commendable.
