School Bus Drivers: What's the Best Gift?

I would like to start some kind of School Bus Driver Appreciation Day because, well, they deserve appreciation. Since everyone's worn out and tired these days, I would like some kind of list of gifts people could give that would really float their school bus driver's boat.

If you're a school bus driver, what would be the best of these suggestions? Obviously if you have a better idea I'd be thrilled.

I doubt these drivers earn much, so you would have to look at what the driver would appreciate the most, and it's probably the cash.

I would tend to agree, April, but many Americans are embarrassed about accepting cash.

The Starbucks Card. It's like shouting the driver a coffee without being there. I do this for a job. A card will go in the bin. Unless it's substantial cash, it would be awkward. The best way to reward the driver is to teach your kids how to behave on the bus.

      What? Huh?

Not me. You can give me cash anytime you want and I will not only thank you most graciously, but I'll sing your praises unabashedly.

Also, do you remember a while back when a bus aide was bullied terribly?

People supported her and showed that support via giving money. She accepted it gratefully and was able to retire quite nicely.

As Granny might have said, nerve tonic may be the best medicine.

I was thinking the Starbucks and a couple of fatties would probably put ya in good standing, depending on how much of a pain your kid is.

I would give them a personal card in an enevelope. You can put money in it and nobody else has to notice it.
