I have tried shaving with cold water, but only because I was in a rush. It was not ideal.

I spent many a day in the military having to do cold water shaves, so I guess now that I'm 50 years older I could do it again, but would prefer not as you see in my self portrait below.

I use to shave myself after I've taken a hot shower because then my beard get softened and it gets much easier to shave.

Why not just use medium grit sandpaper and pat yourself down with rubbing alcohol when you're done?

You are supposed to shave with hot water? And by cold water do you mean freezing water or tap water? I've always only shaved with tap water. I assume tap water is colder in the US than in India.

You always have a third alternative.

        Windows or Mac? Linux.
Cold water or Hot water? Don't shave.

How do you know she looks like her avatar?

Actually, Sumit - women in the US shave a LOT of hair compared to the little patch of face men do. Women here shave their legs. Of course, some women use what is called depilatories, and just cream it on and wash it off and the hair goes with it. Not quite sure why men haven't figured that one out yet?

LOL - okay, I guess some guys have tried it.

If you think that stuff is hardcore -- try wax. Women are a lot tougher than we're given credit for.

I do believe women have a much higher pain threshold

No cold water for me... Gotta to make sure my skin is soft and the pores are open and ready by using warm to hot water before I shave. Cold water shaving wouldn't be very comfortable I think.
