I've never heard of him before - and very glad I watched that. Thanks. Great share.

Seriously? For someone into science, that's like saying you like 60s music, but never heard of the Beatles. Neil DeGrasse is probably one of the 5-10 most famous physicists on the planet.

I agree with him, and have said in the past, that it's very possible we simply aren't smart enough to figure everything out and understand everything that goes on in our universe. But, unlike Dr. DeGrasse, I don't find it disturbing.

Might have read some of his stuff before but don't recall the name. There's a lot of scientists that I'm familiar with their work but don't remember the name. Actually there's a lot of authors that I've read their books and don't remember who wrote it. Names are kinda a dead spot (moron button) with me. I can say for absolutely sure, that I've never seen him speak before though, and found him delightful.

perhaps that's because of the way i posted the title. his full name is neil degrasse tyson. i simply copy-pasted the youtube title, which wasn't fully correct

Wouldn't have helped. LOL. I seriously don't remember names. It took years for me to figure out that one of my favorite songs was sung by Iron Maiden - could never find it because I could never remember who sang it. Stephen Hawkings was "that new quantum physicist" for a long time before I remembered his name - there's another guy whose theories I'm real in tune with and can't remember who the heck he is.

Sorry - I have a strange intellect. There are areas you won't touch me on -- and areas that if they represented my entire intellect you'd have to water me twice a week. Names are one of those.

I love him because you don't have to be a junior physicist to understand him.

I like Neil. He's kind of filling in the considerable space left by the passing of Carl Sagan. It was Sagan who I first heard say that we are essentially made of star dust. I like that.
