What do you think the world will look like in 2030?

Here is an interesting article that gives out bold predictions of what it it will be like living in that year:

Some points mentioned:


10% of the wealthiest companies in the US are considered to be "Virtual corporations"

Automated delivery vans with delivery robots enable 2-hour delivery in urban areas and are disrupting the concept of retail stores

Cable television is dead

Intelligent systems are disrupting multiple industries

Do you think this is the kind of world we will be looking forward to?

    Cute little fairy tale. He forgot to tell about what went on when underground copper ran out. He doesn't mention how we restored our environment from the disastrous effects of the Monsanto/GMO experiment. There's quite a few other things I think were pretty important, but he forgot to mention.

    Still, it was an interesting little fairy tale.

    BTW - why do people always insist on the redundancy of mentioning "future" when they say "prediction". A prediction pre-assumes "future". It drives me crazy that people seem to think it has to be noted twice. LOL - I know, wayyyy off in left field. Just a pet peeve getting poked.

      17 years isn't far into the future. Interesting to see some prior predictions that were a bit "off"...like...

      In 1954, the National Cancer Institute said:
      "If excessive smoking actually plays a role in the production of lung cancer, it seems to be a minor one."

      New York Times, 1936:
      "A rocket will never be able to leave the earth's atmosphere"

      In 1859 - response to a suggestion by Edwin L. Drake:
      "Drill for oil? You mean drill into the ground to try to find oil? You're crazy!"

      1988: Professor of molecular biology at U.C. Berkeley:
      "That virus [HIV] is a pussycat"

      Thomas Watson, Chairman of IBM in 1943:
      "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers"
