A remarkable piece of Aussie ingenuity. The guy in the video is the guy that designed it, and you can see he's justifiably proud of it.

I'm sure HeySal would love one of these when she's on one of her rockhound expeditions.

That is pretty cool. Wouldn't mind having one myself.

EXPENSIVE! And the STANDS don't seem to really have support on either side, so wildlife could create a problem.

I love it - reminds me of a popup camper we had years ago - we got fancier ones later but the popup was always my favorite.

Big benefit in being able to use truck and leave the camper setup. Didn't look for the price - I'm sure it's quite high but it's a really nicely designed camper. I love in in/out access to the storage - looks very sturdy, too.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

Wow.. that might have cost a lot of $$$ to design. I don't need hotel or motel if I have that when I travel to other states.

The price is in the high 40K. The US HAS had similar popups, though I don't think they had weight so displaced. I agree about the storage, but the bed is what I am most concerned about. The material, hinge, and placement means that those supports are VERY important! If just ONE breaks or has the foundation pulled from under it....

Steve - I like the way they placed the heavy water tank, batteries, etc to keep center of gravity low. I thought it looked extremely sturdy and well "propped up". I don't think it's meant to be used without the truck base under it - but it you've traveled with a camper you know what a pain it is to have to unhook everything just to run an errand to the grocery or go to the beach for the day.

This unit provides the ability to use the camper with the benefits of a travel trailer - without towing a trailer.

I always preferred camping out and away from people and "sites", etc so I'm impressed by the self sufficiency of this unit. It would be an expensive toy - but could be a lifestyle for some, too. No property tax or utility bills and move around as you please.

          Wow!
Impressive engineering. That is a man who truly loves what he does.
It would be ideal for back country adventures.
          Awesome.

That thing rocks... heck, I could use that on my fishing expeditions.

As others stated, I found the in/out accesses quite ingenious, as is the ability to drive off and leave camp set up, provides a huge benefit. I mean considering the costs of some of the fancier RV/buses being upwards of $250k here in the US, I don't think it's that over-priced. Plus, luxury items are always pricy, are they not?

That guy seemingly thought of everything. Wouldn't mind taking a cross country road trip in that thing, so long as I can trailer a boat behind it... add in a satellite dish for internet, and a flat screen tv, and I'd never come home, lol.

And you would be right. My website's 2nd annual meet up in the Black Desert this summer would be just extremely comfy in that thing. Guess I'll just be crashing in the back of my jeep and cooking over fire like usual. As long as I can make coffee, I'll survive it.

I think for both Sal and I - if you gave us each one of those ...we'd disappear into the woods, desert or hills with our dogs and you'd seldom hear from us again. Good way to get rid of us, right, Sal?

The more I look at that design - the more I realize how much thought went into it. Very practical to have the fully closed and secured storage areas and the entry, etc that remains off the ground - because it's Australian made and the creepy crawlies and snakes there would be a concern for any camper.
