Well, yesterday somebody bought my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Collection
for $2,400 on Ebay yesterday. As bad as things have been of late, that's going
to help a lot.

I now have to pack up 163 turtles with accessories.

It wasn't as hard parting with them as I thought it would be. I guess when times
are tough, things like these really aren't that important.

Anyway, this gives me a bit of a buffer for a while.

Off to packing. LOL

Oh, don't bring up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I will never live down the fact that I stopped my ex-husband from buying the first edition of the comic book because I said it was stupid. Of course, at the time, we had two toddlers and very little money, but that's never mentioned when he tells the story of how I prevented him from buying a comic book that later sold for big bucks at auction.

    Congratulations on the sale, though.

Congratulations Steve! I'm very happy for you!

Don't feel too bad Tina, I would have done the exact same thing. I've never cared for those turtles. I thought they were dumb too. Still do!

Yep, as Erik Branson said to his child, when his luxery resort was burning down, "these are only things, and can be replaced, family is the most important thing"!

        Or something like that?

Yep, l told you, you would get a break sooner than later! This may be the start of bigger and better things!

        All the best.

I catered to collectors mostly in depression glass for over a year on eBay. I was amazed at what they where willing to pay. The first item I ever sold on eBay was a Bullwinkle Pez dispenser. When the winning bid was 265 I realized there's money in 'them thar hills'
The thing I found with collectibles that almost guaranteed you would get what they where worth was all in the description.
When I was at my peak with the depression glass I would spend well over 10 hours a day just researching the items I was going to list the next day. Many of my buyers thought I was also a collector because of my item descriptions.

I know what you mean. I'm just thankful that I kept mine in near mint condition.

I'm surprised I'm not more sad than I am parting with them. I guess survival
      comes above all else.

Yikes - that's just incredible that people will pay that kind of stash for something like that.

I had a blue depression glass mug once with a pic of Shirley Temple on it. When my pet turtle died I put some flowers in it and put it on the grave. I can't believe what that thing would have been worth today - same with some of my other toys I had. Just wows me to think of the money that was lost in garage sales or hand-me-downs to other kids.
