I never heard him play at Woodstock (got there late), but it's sad to lose another of the Woodstock era musicians.

I got to see him live in a bar atmosphere at a place called Bogarts in Cinci on the UC campus. Had a table about 10 feet from the stage.

Interesting. Bogarts is still there bringing in good acts. It was called the Inner Circle during the late 1960s, and as I recall, changed to Bogarts during the 70s.

I remains Bogarts to this day.

I didn't realize Havens played there, but shouldn't be surprised. They brought good talent to Bogarts.

Yeah, I saw quite a few great players there. New Riders Of The Purple Sage. Jerry Jeff, John Prine, and more that I can't I call off hand.

And some personal friends of mine.
