Draft Card and the pledge of allegiance

I saw that thread about jury duty, it made me think about when i had to fill out
the draft card. I just heard recently they don't do the pledge of allegiance
in school any more... that made me wonder ... Do they still do draft cards?

Man I feel old just thinking of how much has changed.

How about you, did you fill one out? And why were on the topic
when and why did they remove the pledge from school.

When I was in the earlier grades, mostly in private school, they DID do the pledge of allegiance. Before I was in high school, they STOPPED! BTW I am about 50.

YEAH, I ended up filling out a draft card. As for the "PLEDGE of allegiance", "OATH of office", "NON disclosure agreement", "Employment contract"? Let me translate that to 21st century "english"! READY?

    "of", "of money", "","money"....

BTW Job means money. work means money. school means money.

    OK?

I never filled out a draft card. I missed the draft by less than a year.
We said the Pledge of Allegiance through high school. But this was back in the dark ages.

If by draft card you mean selective service, yes. It's still mandatory to register when you turn 18.

As I recall, the draft was ******OVER WITH****** when I was a kid. GOOD RIDDANCE! They later BROUGHT IT BACK! THEN, I filled it out. Interestingly though, they gave my school the ASVAB TEST and, though they misprocessed my test and thought I was older, I scored pretty high in science, technology, etc... and very branch of the military called me. ! That was a bit BEFORE the draft, as I recall.

    Ken,

If you were 18 at the time they started the draft again, and someone else was 10 years older than you, it is possible that they may not have to do it. Logically, people at or near the maximum age shouldn't be required to register because it would burden the system with people that likely would not be accepted. The SSS.GOV site says the cutoff is 25!

.LOL - I'm still trying to remember if we said the pledge or not. I know we did in grade school and just plain don't remember if I did in HS. I'm pretty sure we did, though. Guys were still getting drafted for VN when I was in school, too.
