That was a good episode. NCIS is one of my favorite shows. I'm still waiting for Tony and Ziva to get together, and for McGee to get back with Abby.

Only started watching this last year. My wife and I watch them on DVD - we're on season 8. We like it a lot - and no commercials

Almost everyday, except for Tuesday, USA network shows an NCIS marathon.

All USA ever plays anymore is NCIS.

I used to like the show, but enough is enough already.

At this rate they might as well rename themselves to "NCIS Network"

Too much can be a bad thing. They have far surpassed that line.

I am sick to death of NCIS because of the nonstop re-run episodes they play.

I mean seriously... you can only watch the same episode 4-5 times before you get tired of seeing it.. we don't need to see the exact same episodes 50 times.

Well, that's what the remote is for

I'm still on the first run. My wife and I watch basically one episode per night about 4 nights per week.

But when it's done, it's done.

I remember when everyone I knew absolutely raved about 24. DId not watch a single episode until after it ended - got the series on DVD. watched them all, liked it - then sold the DVDs at a garage sale. Once was fine.

Now, HERE'S a series where I watched every episode multiple times - and will still stop and watch if I come across it:

          Ooo - here we go!

          Can't forget the movie:

Once was fine for both you and anybody at West Point! I just could not believe that many top US military generals actually had to write a letter to the show producers and directors and demand that Jack Bauer actually face some consequences for his actions!

They wrote their letter because they got tired of, every time they'd teach about something that was illegal for soldiers to do, somebody invariably would always smirk "Why not? Jack Bauer does!" out loud in the middle of class.

But that last season was kind of . . . ??? I just KNEW what was going to happen when some bad guy swallowed a sim card Jack needed . . . !

I started out watching that show on TV as it came out. Somewhere about the 4th season I missed a couple of episodes...and after missing a couple back to back you're just lost...so I just swore off it until the DVDs came out. And then I rented the whole season and just had a "24" weekend and tackled the whole season in one weekend. Not that I had originally really planned it that way, I'd just be so much more hyped and not want to wait to play the next one since I had it right there and didn't have to wait... (No commercials, YAAAYYY!!!)

I used to be really crazy about Criminal Minds, but then I started having weird dreams...and one day woke up realizing I could have written an entire season of that show...A-lister serial arsonist murderer, nobody can actually prove he's actually killing on purpose due to the fires, and the dream team of lawyers standing between him and the BAU that drove the team so batty that they actually went out and dragged Gideon back to work from wherever it was he wandered off to in a previous season! Even Dr. Reid was about to lose it on this guy!

I started to see strange things in that Criminal Minds show. And then they had an episode where the first family to be murdered on the show had the same last name as me, and at the end of the same episode this one girl gets taken by the killer and her aunt cries out my first name (I kid you not, the girl the killer kidnapped had the same first name I do) and I not only quit watching but turned in my cable box!

But the shows I miss watching the most are NCIS and NCIS LA...

Ha ha - never knew that.

I can't believe ANY General would take a FICTIONAL show serious enough to write letters about it - and think the snarky remarks by students were serious. I was in the military years ago and I never thought the stuff Jack Bauer pulled on that show would be legal.

You can't make this stuff up.

          I don't get it????

          NCIS' home network is CBS.

Why would you get burned out watching re-runs and get pissed at the USA network for showing NCIS re-runs?

I watch it all the time.
I was watching it when I started this thread.

My point is, why would you watch USA until you hate the show and hate the channel?

And, FYI, today USA was showing a Law And Order marathon.:p

Before or after S. Epatha Merkerson joined the show??? (Just kidding!)

I really do love watching the first ones, especially the two episodes with Christine Baranski in them. (She's currently playing one of the partners on The Good Wife...) I think she started her career on those two episodes!

Law And Order is the only other show I could ever get tired of, but mainly because I've seen them so many times! There are many episodes that I have seen so many times that I can just see the crime scene or watch it during the first 5 minutes and tell you who did it!

But I love those "ripped from the headlines" episodes! The one based on Michael Jackson's molestation trial were almost funny in a way because they didn't just rip on Michael, they actually put about 2 or 3 different real-life scenarios into one episode...Eric Clapton's child's death, somebody confessing to an entire situation they were unaware of and taking the case on a left turn right down toward Albuquerque, etc.

NCIS LA is good but it doesn't have the comedic aspect the original has.

@Icombs...I agree about the comedic aspect...but obviously each show has to have its differences. I think Deaks is supposed to be the comedy guy in that show but most of his humour is a bit too pathetic.

Yes, I know what the remote is for.. lol

I don't even bother flipping the channel to USA anymore because I already know what will be playing -- NCIS re-runs.

Just saying.. That network acts like people want to see the same old episodes time & time & time & time & time again, when we really don't.

This wasn't a jab at the show itself, more at USA for insisting on re-runs that have been over-played for the past 3 years, instead of airing some of the newer episodes that they have never played before.

PS... brady bunch?? Really?? lol cmon man.

I could see stopping to watch LOST re-runs (we have all 6 seasons on DVD, and have seen every episode at least 6 times)

    Or even The Walking Dead..

    but brady bunch???? ahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

LOL - knew that would get a laugh. The appeal to me is that I was about 5 or 6 when it first aired and I remember it in it's original run, and it went into reruns quickly, showing every day after school. Memories of a care-free youth

Actually, what you say about USA I think of with the Biography channel now. Seems like it mostly plays one "ghost" type show after another. I could care less about ghostly experiences of the celebrities...

By the way - never saw Lost. We're considering it after we finish the NCIS DVDs.

oh man, just skip the NCIS & go straight to LOST. You'll love it.

Well... at least the first 5 seasons anyway, if you're anything like me.

Not saying season 6 isn't good, just that it doesnt really fit in with my expectations for the series finale (or my beliefs)

But who knows.. you might love season 6!

Either way, you will absolutely LOVE the series up until then.

I didn't care for the series finale but I still appreciate & can see what they were trying to do with it. AWESOME show, nonetheless.

On NCIS. The show has become more about the characters than the plots. We've grown to really care about these people. We want to see Tony and Ziva together at the end. We want to see McGee and Abbs together at the end. We want to see Gibbs happy for the first time since he lost his wife and daughter. We want to see Ducky retire and enjoy what's left of his life.

We cried when Jenny died. But we cried more for who she left behind and how they felt about her than for her.

We were stunned when Leon sent the team on its way at the end of season 5.

But above everything else, we're wondering how this is all going to end as someday it has to end.

It's no secret that Mark Harmon hates the Gibbs character. Always has. So how long he'll continue doing it is anybody's guess. And this show can't survive without him. Almost anybody else is replaceable. Not him. He is the glue that holds the whole thing together.

I give it one more year, maybe two tops before it all ends. As it is, it's been an amazing run by today's standards.

As for LOST, one of my favorite shows ever, though I know a lot of people just didn't get it and couldn't get into it. I understand. It was really one of a kind.

That's all I got for now.

I wasn't aware how Mark Harmon felt about playing Gibbs.
        That surprises me.
Especially with Mark being the producer.

You're right about the show being more about the characters than the plots.
But, that's the common thread in all the great TV shows.
The Andy Griffith Show, All In The Family, Cheers, etc.

I do think you're right, unfortunately, about it only lasting another year or 2.
Time eventually catches up with everything.
Just as in real life, TV characters grow old.

Although, I never thought CSI could survive when Grissom left.
One of my favorite TV characters.
But, they're still going strong and on their 3rd director.

I wonder if that's also what happened with that show "The Closer" starring Kevin Bacon's wife, Kyra Sedgwick? Hating a character that is such a good and steady gig must really suck, LOL!

I HATED the "brady bunch movie". It was really a PARODY! They took a 70s sitcom(that was about normal), accentuated the 70s look, and made put them in the current day with 100% freedom and now apparent knowledge of the period.
the "Johnny Bravo" look(in good time music) was an aberration because it was about people getting into disco, or being MOD, etc... which happened in the 1970s. The jackson five, partridge family, beatles, etc... did the SAME thing.

As for NCIS? It is no longer a series! It is a FRANCHISE! So they have expanded it like CSI, law and order, or SG1!

Each new series DOES increase the chances of it being on GREATLY. There ARE worse shows on though.

Yeah, I believe that was the intent. Taking all the "cutesy" scenes from the series and making fun of them...

      "OH, MY NOSE!" heehee

They do the same with other old TV shows - Starsky and Hutch - the movie was a parody too. And the more recent 21 Jump Street.

Happens all the time in Hollywood.
