There has been too many speculation about the new .pw domain extension which was recently rebranded to ""Professional Web" . With the ongoing landrush for this extension, many of its premium name have been bought and some still remain unregistered yet. But the big question on everybody's mind rightnow is

Will this extensions ever be worth anything in the future. Is it worth really worth grabbing your share of this extension now??.

If ur build a space time machine somewhere in ur basement or u've got some super jedi powers can you please travel back & worth in time to bring use some answers .

Cheers !!!

It's the (newly-launched) ccTLD for Palau. They're presumably hoping to "make something of it" like Tuvalu did for .tv, Montenegro did for .me, and so on. But it's maybe not quite so easy to see that "professional web" - which is certainly how they're trying to market them - is very attractive/appealing/relevant to people.

There may be a little bit of hype and a rush to register "protectively" at the moment, but in the long run, I can't quite see it, myself.

    Time will tell.

Yea am fully aware that it was rebranded from the original mean Palau, but dont you think the rebrand is having any significant possible positive impact on the probable future success of the domain extension:confused:

I don't know - maybe too early to tell?

I see that the current hype may produce some registrations. Whether it will produce any long-term use remains to be seen (my guess is actually "not"). I suspect the "professional web" thing may turn out to be like the "pro" extension, or even more so - i.e. very rarely used and never became popular, really.

Alexa is right. Perhaps to avoid confusion with the THREE character, purpose driven, TLDs, the country TLDs are ISO2! The ISO2 for palau is "PW"!

Outside of big and/or successful countries, the 2 character codes tend to fail. HECK, how many US ones succeed? Canada wanted their own internal ones, so ca does fine there, but the probably still prefer the 3 char. The UK wanted their own, and so... Western Samoa is too small, and probably failed. THEY tried to say it was for Web Site, or World Site.
