Any sci-fi watchers here?

What are your thoughts on the way Battle star galactica series ended? Did you like it? Think it was a let down? Why?

And what are you thoughts on the new Caprica series and the pilot show? I watched the pilot on DVD and so far I have mixed feelings about it. It's interesting to see some of the history in the show, and some of the characters that were talked about in BSG (Joe Adama) but I'm not sure the show is going to have the sci-fi feel that I loved about BSG.

I'm curious to know if you've watched Caprica and what you think about the way the story line is starting.

Oddly enough I never got into BSG.
I've been into all the Star Gate since day one and am looking forward to the newest installment there (can't remember the series name now).
Also a big fan of Dr. Who, just never liked BSG and don't think I'll be watching Caprica either.

I had some issues with how they handled StarBuck, but overall I like the series and the ending.

Haven't watched the DVD pilot yet. I have a long trip to CA later this summer so will probably grab a copy to watch on the plane.

I'm a big fan of Star Gate too. The new series is called StarGate Universe. Hopefully it will as good as SG1 and Atlantis.

Also a big fan of Dr. Who and Torchwood. Bummer that Dr. Who is on hiatus this year, not sure what they're doing. I was hoping it'd be a movie, but with David Tennant leaving not sure what the plan is. I've also heard they're only doing 5 episodes of Torchwood this year. Hopefully the BBC isn't thinking of canceling either show.

SciFi sucks as it is now. Especially Friday Nights.

I don't think Caprica will be as big as BSG. I loved every action packed minute of BSG. I also didn't really like the way the Starbuck saga ended. But i loved her character.

Caprica on the other hand is off to a strange start to me from watching the pilot. Not at all what i was expecting.

I never got into Star Gate. Might have to pick it up. I liked the old Star Trek Next Gen series, Sliders, Quantum Leap stuff. Call me old school but i love that kind of Sci-Fi.

I'm glad they made a Trek Pre-qual so i can get some type of Trek Fix. I went to Vegas not long ago and found they closed the exhibit at the Hilton. . Hopefully they'll put it back up some where, but i heard they put it in storage.

I love Battlestar Galactica. It took me a bit to warm up to it when it first began because when I was a kid I watched the original version where Starbuck was a man. I just could not understand why they changed the role from male to female but as I watched....the program pulled me in. I am going to really miss Edwards James Olmos as Adama asking the crew to get the folks "on the horn" and barking out commands. There were some real twists and turns in that series and I am just glad it came to some kind of end. I hate when programs are left hanging without an ending. I wanted a little more at the end like Adama and the crew jumping ahead about 20 years and seeing how things progressed. I did not like the severe jump in time they did but overall, that program rocked especially the fight scenes at the end including the classic Cylons on board. That was awesome. Okay... I'm done looking like a geek... but that's part of who I am. I'm can't wait for the Star Trek prequels to begin. It's going to be a great summer for Sci-Fi/comics buffs with X-men, Star Trek, Transformers and Terminator gracing the screens.

Was a huge fan of BSG (arguably the best TV show on at the time) and even liked the ending, tying it in with our past instead of our future. Watched Caprica and enjoyed it but not as much as an episode of BSG. I enjoy Torchwood and Dr.Who but never got into the Stargate, StarTrek, or Bab5 stuff. Hated to see BSG end but better that the writers took it out than the ratings at some point.
