Someday people could use this, and similar technologies, to create their own customized electronic devices including electronic greeting cards, video game controls, touch-sensitive mobile phone cases, or solar cell arrays.
This 3D printing stuff and it's variations are going to be very interesting. Things will be developed in the next year or two that haven't even been thought of yet.

Oh! Wait! That's been happening for the last 30-40-50+ years. Oh well...

AGAIN, *******INCREDIBLY******* simplistic! They are talking about SOME DISCRETE electronics from maybe 200-300 years ago! WIRE? ******DUH****** been done for like 100 years, and used in commercial products to a large degree for about 50! SOME resistors? *****DUH***** see above! SOME capacitors? MAYBE! Semiconductors DOUBTFUL! ICS? ******NO WAY******! They are now talking about ICs of 14nm or LESS! They had NO hope of doing that even using technology that was around about 25 years ago! But even the ICs that were around 40years ago could NOT be printed. BTW the PREFERRED medium for printed circuits is PLASTIC!
