How to Earn Some Cash Doing Web-Designs

Hi, I design web pages using WordPress. I've developed many websites for friends. I have some experience and I've created some WordPress themes as well, but I'm not able to earn any money. Now, I'm going broke.

I tried doing freelance work through elance.com but it's very hard to get a deal, since there are lots of other competitors.

So, what would be the best way to earn some cash doing web-design? Where can I find people who would want web sites?

I was going through some offline marketing forums and found that people sell websites by sales pitching. But I'm not experienced in those fields and don't know much about it.
So, I was wondering if there are people who do sales pitching and want websites delivered to them.

Where should I look? and what's the best thing for me to do?

Hmmmm, l would start off in Fiverr.com, and work my way up in their first.

The thing about Elance, etc, is if you do start to get work there, you will find some customers will either not buy, because they found a cheaper option, or buy your site, and then pull the plug, by figuring out how to manage it by themselves.

I know one or two web designers, that need a second job to make ends meet, (unfortunately).

Apart from the usual contacting people that seem to be looking for a web designer, on and off line, with fiverr you can also do a lot of other stuff, to create some cash flow.

It would take months to get going, but some earn up to $700 or more per month, so the money is there.

You could also try Codecanyon, (their other sites links are there as well) and do templates, etc.

Obviously you may have to look at it long term to see the cashflow, but big money is there, as long as you don't try things you think will sell, and stay with the best selling areas first.

I am testing out Graphicriver at present with promising results. I expect that in a month or two, l will have a good idea as to how profitable l can make this, and then outsource, to scale up!

But if you need some money now, go to Ebay, and sell anything around the house, you don't use anymore?

    Good luck.

Doing wordpress shouldn't be hard. Find niches, and write templates for them. Sell them at a reasonable price, and the closer they are to well paying stes, the better. You might be able to sell them on template sites. It is best to offer custom work, and ods, so you might take a $5 sale and build it into hundreds, and a lasting relationship.

Other avenues require skills we don't know that that you have.
