Hello BH members,

My mother was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia about 4 years ago. For those of you that do not know what PPA is, it's a form of Alzheimer's where the person losses their memory and ability to communicate. There is a clinical research treatment study that is trying to obtain funding, through a doctor that she see's. Her along with 11 other people will have a chance to participate in this research treatment study if $60,000 is raised by September. The doctor has tried to to obtain grants, but has been unsuccessful. I have taken it upon myself to raise the money through private donations. Please help my mother and hopefully other people's loved ones by visiting the link below.

Andrew, why not go to your local TV station and ask if they can do a story and raise funds that way. I have seen that happen quite often. You may find a few generous benefactors out there.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

If you are a member of a local club or organization, they oftentimes do benefits for families in need.

I know a tad about aphasia, but never heard of it being caused by alzhiemers. It doesn't surprise me it would be a symptom, though. Most of the time aphasia is brought on by trauma. I had it temporarily (it only lasted a few days) related to a physical condition. It's pretty scary. You think straight in your head but nothing comes out of your mouth correctly so others have no clue what you're trying to say.
