In case you haven't heard, Adobe has now moved to a monthly payment system for FULL ACCESS to their products!

I just got the FULL VERSION of Photoshop CC straight from Adobe just for subscribing to a $19/month plan.
Buying guide : pricing, upgrades & membership | Adobe Photoshop CC

Single app -- annual Full version of one desktop application
  • Full new version of Photoshop CC
  • 20GB of cloud storage
  • Limited access to services
  • Requires annual commitment; billed monthly†

You can now do this with any of their product line up.

This is now making this top of the line and most pirated software on the internet accessible to everyone.

No longer do you have to pay $600 to own the app we all love.

I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on this

Yep, that is pretty cool, Photoshop CS2 is about $600 in AU.

CC seems to be the latest full version, not the crappy student one, but the catch is you need to run it on their cloud.

Maybe their cloud can handle large files, but l have tried another photo editor on a webhost l am with, and it was unbearably slow, so, l would wait for feedback before taking the plunge.

But with all the new tricks, l would seriously look into it!

This is probably an ideal way to get past the pirated versions, and keep the price low, seems to be a win-win, but it depends on the speed?

I don't think this app is running "On the cloud". If I'm not mistaken It's the FULL Local APP, with the option to use the Cloud for Storage and Sharing.

You still have all functionality and local storage ability.

WOW! If they had this when I started, and charged the same price, I wouldn't have had to pay like $1000 for the product!(It cost much more then!) It would only have cost about $6840, give or take a thousand or so!

Frankly, I think it is another way to get more money and move us AWAY from computers! Don't forget, the US and UK once considered computers MUNITIONS! They kept them quiet for a decade or so. THEN, the US considered fast computers and/or secured communication munitions. Oh SURE, OK domestically, but you could be JAILED for sending them to china!

Well, they tried to get rid of computers maybe 3 times already, since I have been counting, and they are in the middle of another attempt. YEP, the next step is to move to PURE terminals. And that means remote apps, which is what this is.

THINK ABOUT IT!?!?!? WHERE is the benefit? DON'T say PRICE because it isn't REALLY true, and ones that are VERY similar are FREE!

HEY, the same thing happened with guns! They are trying to wean us off guns now as I am talking about them doing with computers. It is ironic that we may STILL not have computers if not for an order from a company from a former enemy country!

And what of security, and archiving?

Steve at 19 a month it would take approx. 31.5 months to hit 600.
I haven't used photoshop in years so I'm not up to speed on it, but are there still plugins that people develop and sell for it? If so can they still be added to this version?
I'm not a graphics person by any stretch, but doesn't Gimp still compare to photoshop?

It DOES, but photoshop really wasn't mentioned as a goal until gimpshop.

And, however features are added, they must not have the look and feel of photoshop, or there could be problems.

This went from $19 software to conspiracy theory.

Who said anything about software, outside of ME of course? The OP didn't mention software but a SERVICE! GRANTED some might call it Software AS A SERVICE, but the fact is you get NOTHING tangible in the least so NO SOFTWARE!

YEAH, it sounds crazy, but look at how everything is going.

I popped this on another forum, a more graphical one, and someone there said, he tried it, but because it wasn't compatable with his other Adobe suite programs, he pulled it.

Or put it another way discontinued the service and went back to CS3 or an older version, becuase the online one, had kittens with illustrator, etc!

Still a good service for a newbie, who can make some money fairly quickly, but for more seasoned pro's, probably not so, good!

      Sniff!!!!

      Shane

PS CS3 is $650, and C6, eventhough it will probably have compatibility issues, is about $200.

Although doing a thorough Google search can bring up discounted ones!
