It would be nice to hear what your country delivers for internet speeds.

In Sweden we deliver 1GBit/s for almost every apartment soon, from the broadband socket. Anyhow, if you are in a house and only got a telephone jack we only deliver 60Mbit/s. So basically, if you live in a apartment, you can get 1000Mbit/s in Sweden

Now, tell us how much you can get in your country ?

Are you SURE about that? I think most of the internet is still at a max of 1Gbps. That might represent only about 20%. Probably over 50% is 10Mbps. In fact, it took a LONG time for 100Mbps to take off, and that was LONG after 10Mbps was the standard.

In the US, claims go all over the place, but I don't think any residential company even CLAIMS 1Gbps. "Luckily" at this point, windows seems SO slow, that my network speed HERE isn't really a concern.

BTW, my disk drive is apparently in the top 3-4%, so it is considered fast. Its raw speed averages about 105MBps. That is only a bit over 1Gbps.

In India the network distribution is not much developed yet but I get a decent 5-10 Mb/s speed with my router. it was worst when I had a modem.

This thread will give you an Idea: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...net-speed.html

Google fiber claims 1Gbit/s, but it's only available in a few limited areas right now. I reckon it's pretty expensive to roll out the necessary infrastructure on a large scale.

Keep in mind that 1GB/S is download speed, so if you don't have a $50 000 computer chances are you can only support 50MB/S max.

That is not true, a 1GBit network card is cheap. You can handle a 1GB network with a $500 computer today.

Although, I live in Sweden and we're one of the most developed countries in technology and network connections.
