HOOHAUH -- Finally a music thread I can get into real hard. Like the ones you posted........but I saw Coal Chamber live (they played with Il Ninio and Drowing Pool - and I will never bother with them again - arrogant, disgusting.) I hated them live. Glad I went, though -- it was the last concert for the lead singer of Drowning Pool - he died the next day of a coronary:

The first time I heard their music I thought it absolutely sucked.

I've heard them - never seen them in concert though. Don't mind them but there's something 80's in their sound that I wouldn't seek out, but don't mind them if someone else has them playing. Slightly stoopid is TOO toned down - elevator music. Have to admit, I'm kinda top 40 in headbanging Korn, Disturbed is my favorite, Puddle of Mudd, Rob Zombie. et al.

I've always thought this one is one of the most under-rated tunes in Metal:

  PS l think that the other reason this thread is having trouble getting going is, the stigma, l clicked on this after passing a few times, because l thought it would be no better than Rap music, but obviously there is some really cool stuff here, so l will have to eat my words?
  
  Maybe start another thread, about why there is a stigma about pigeonholing heavy metal, when it is actually a lot better than the preconceived ideas?

I was into metal when metal was first created. A LOT of people just don't get it -- and when it's bad metal, it's absolutely sickening, so a lot of people never get the taste for it. Also the crowds can be a little bit dangerous or whacked looking, so that steers some people away that would love the stuff if they sat and listened to GOOD metal. I LOVE dressing for concerts. The kids kinda freak a little seeing an old lady rocking out but they actually show "Grandma Mosh" (good story in that nickname) some respect.
