First off,let me say thank you for reading this. I have been reading alot of threads on this forum and i am so confused.I have absolutely no experience @ IM,Affiliate marking, etc. I don't have a blog or even a website. So,my question is what should i do? Join a coaching program, buy a program, open a ebay store or what? I would love to make money online and have a few dollars to invest but don't want to fall into a scam.No one does and those that do it for a living in my humble opinion A$$ hole$ ! I don't expect to be a multi-millionaire but if i could earn a comfortable living (say 50-60K a yr or maybe even just a bit more) that would be great.I'm not looking to scam ppl out of there hard earned money or push a crappy/useless software, ebook, etc. Something legit, something i can be proud of.Willing to spend as much time, effort and dedication to make it a success. So any HONEST and Truthful advise would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks

Welcome. Here's the good news. Most business opportunities are legit. The actual ratio of scams to real stuff is very small.

If I were you I'd look for something to market that you like or enjoy. A hobby maybe. There's no easy answer to the "what should I do" question. It depends on what you want to do. Spend a few weeks looking around here and search for info online. Don't be so quick to buy some program as there is plenty of free stuff out there. Once you get an idea of what you might like to do then you can go after some specific knowledge.

One other thing. It will be a lot easier to read your posts if you hit the space bar after punctuation marks and sentences.

start off as a affiliate, which means selling other peoples merchandise (amazon Affiliate) is a good place to start, get signed up, start a free blog at blogger.com that way you get your feet wet and see what your interests are-there are many affiliate companies out there-just google them

Hmmmm, l was like you more than 5 years ago, and spent more than 2 years wasting my time on a website doing something which l enjoyed and should have made some money?

Virtually every time l have tried SEO, search engine optimization strategies, l have wasted months on it with little to show for it!

Only about 10 or 13% of website builders make it successful, the vast majority don't, myself included.

And obviously you may be successful with it, but it is more likely you won't!

So, doing SEO as a side thing or hobby is the first piece of advise l can offer you, to knock a couple of years of your journey!

The other thing you will quickly realise that IM isn't as easy as it looks, or it is easy to make one off sales, but hard to make consistent sales, (l spent 7 months doing Pay Per Click). And with Adwords being so expensive, trying to find or develop a product they will be happy with that's viable is easier said than done!

Then l tried renting out lists, best words of advise don't bother! Most will get you clicks, but little else, and that is usually after spending a few hundred.

And creating software for WSO's, good results that can make a second income, but it will take years, (unless you get lucky and someone with a huge list gives it a go)!

And then we have what l am doing now, which is doing high end graphics for this site....

Design Templates, Photoshop Brushes, and Stock Vectors | GraphicRiver

They also have sites for music, software, and tons of other stuff, but as l said before they are usually very picky, so a sloppy graphic may not get in, and you have the usual supply and demand issues, (they set the price). But if you can figure it out, then substantial profits are there for the taking!

All IM strategies have people that have figured out how to make a lot from it, (usually by being lucky, or thinking outside the box) and most who can't get it to work.

IF IM was easy, or a particular area most of the general population would be doing it; but as others have said, it will take time, and concentrating on your strengths, should be of benefit to you given time.

I have been fooling around with graphics for the last couple of years, so realizing that some graphics can make good money, was a pleasant surprise, but don't get me wrong, l still need to figure out how to make real money from this and scale.

I know how to do a lot of that, l just need to put my head down and get something going.

So, yeah, SEO is a good skill to have, but in my opinion, you have better odd's with one of the Evato sites, (listed above).

Or if you don't have any sellable skills as yet, then Fiverr.com, or Ebay to sell any stuff lying around, might be a good place to start.

Anyone can make up to $700 a month with fiverr, l know because l interviewed someone who makes that by doing "see spot run" things for $5.

      Good luck.

      Shane

PS sorry for being blunt, but treating SEO, (building a site, etc) as a hobby, instead of the main business, could save you a lot of effort. And learning how to build a page for a site is a good skill to have, but wasting years, SEO, the site and adding content, might be a dead end!
