I am traveling to Greece with my girlfriend and brother - my uncle lives there. We will spend 4 days in Athens and 7 days on Naxos island! Have you been there? Did you like it?

I've been there. It was a long time ago though.

The two things that I remember the best was browsing the outdoor bazaars (if memory serves they call them agoras over there) and the bouzouki music that was playing. I still have a cassette somewhere of traditional bouzouki music I picked up when I was there.

That, and of course the Acropolis.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Its a lovely place, was there back in the day early -90s , nice scenery (though big foggy sometimes at the acropolis) but very hot and pretty much i liked it we stayed there for 14 days, nice beaches also and some cool islands and with all their troubles (Greeces issues with EU) probably is not that expensive there either now.

I've been to Athens a few times but very briefly (because you have to travel through it to get to a lot of other parts of Greece, effectively).

I've been to Naxos, and to other Cyclades islands; I liked Naxos very much. (If you like modern art, there's a very nice little gallery in the old town, called Petalouda, I think). You must be staying in Chora, or one of the villages just outside it, probably? There are also easy and quick day-trips available by boat to other local islands in the Cyclades which are well worth a look.

You'll have a great time, I'm sure (the food's very good, as on all Aegean islands!).

It'll be quite hot (but then so is Zagreb at the moment, I'm sure?).

I am from Greece. I suggest you to come to Paralja - Katerini. It's full of life. Literally, you can't walk in the streets due to huge number of tourists. Naxos is good as well, but prices might be a little high in islands.

I loved Greece. Um...........watch out for the Ouzo. You might think you've had their best if you've drank import. That's what I thought til I got there. It's opiated over there. 2 shot glasses and I went over the rainbow. So take that stuff real slow and careful. Other than that - it's a little dirtier than I expected but it's awesome to browse the ruins you've heard about all your life.

Yes, it was 18 years ago; I was there with my girlfriend in the beginning of September. I loved it, not to many tourists and see was still warm. The food was great and the people nice.

I know that Greece is now into a lot of problems, but I’m sure that the sun, the see, the nature and the friendly people are still there
