And -- what construction is it - how long you had it - any problems.

I've been thinking of getting one - but would love to hear the opinions of warriors who have one.

You will probably want a pool service guy to maintain it monthly, where do you live? Unless you plan to do maintenance yourself, there is lots of info on that.

As for construction I know many people who can do this and can give you input, I'm an expert in the Pool Service/Construction industry.

When constructing a pool, the underwater ground table is very important and the geographic location.

I have seen pools that lifted out of the ground because a high water table turned the pool into a boat when the water was drained from the pool. So you will want a professional to make sure it's safe & possible to create a pool where you live.

Nope. You don't need a pool boy.

The hardest part of maintaining a pool is keeping the PH levels balanced.
There are easy to use kits for testing the water.
I just use the test strips. They tell the 4 chemical levels that you need
      to maintain.

My sister-in-law in SW Ohio has a really nice in-ground.
She has no problem with maintaining it herself.

My other sister-in-law, also in SW ohio, has an above ground
      and she enjoys very much.

The most troublesome part of maintainence for me is
vacuuming the bottom of the pool.
But, I paid $142.00 for an automatic vacuum that works great.

What it comes down to is, how bad to you want one and how much would you use it?

Would love to help out here but I just got back from the reservoir down the road from me. Do what I did - want water? Move to where it is.

If you live in Colorado, you might want to reconsider your plans because if you get a drop of rainwater in your pool, you can face up to 30 days in jail for collecting rainwater.

Yup, we got one. But money's tight and times are hard, so we got the economy model

Well, I did until a storm blew over a big tree that split it right in half last year.

So, like HD, I had to go with an economy model this time mainly for the grandkiddies, but I did make it a bit bigger than his so I could get in it along with the grandkiddies.

Don't play the martyr, you've both got high quality life jackets on when they're clearly not needed and you appear to be handing out wads of notes whilst your good lady smirks at the days takings on her little notebook.

You can't pull the wool over my eyes you saucy devil.

I have an inground pool, it's constant work. Probably would have been better off with a 4 person hot tub.

There's a nice little swimming hole in the Kill about 1/4 mile from my house. I never needed a pool.

That was a nice little spot. You'd never know that there's a city just beyond the trees.

My sister had a hot tub and always complained about how much work it was to maintain, definitely kept me from wanting to go get one.

We did go get a little 10 foot Easy Set Intex pool for the kids to play in, both under 5 years old, and it's really nice. It's only about a foot deep but works great for the little ones. Easier to maintain than a "real" pool and cheap enough that I don't have to worry about storing it for the winter cause I can just get a new one next year.

Pools are to much work to maintain so I choose to go with a maintenance free pool.
