I hereby declare ice cream to be the king of desserts.

Ice cream comes in a vast array of flavors. It can make root beer floats, shakes, sundaes, etc.

It's great on pie, brown betty, coblers and cake. And you can add cookies and candy to ice cream for all sorts of possibilities.

Ice cream not only stands on its own, it adds to every other type of dessert.

All hail ice cream!

Oooo root beer floats! I haven't had one of those in years. Hmmm I wonder where the nearest A&W stand is? In fact, the last time I had a root beer float was at an A&W stand. Now if I can only remember where that was.

      I scream,
      you scream,
we all scream for ice cream!

      Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Ice cream was my dad's favorite dessert and so we had ice cream a lot.

Whenever we were out and about and my dad starting singing that little ditty above, we knew we were getting ice cream. My favorite way back then was Bluemoon.

Wow! I haven't had any of that in decades, literally.

Bluemoon is when you sit on the ice cream freezer for a while, then your pants fall down.

My Dad would line all 4 of us boys up right beside the hand cranked ice cream maker and plop us down, one by one, on top of the icee cold machine. As the ice cream began to harden and the cranking got harder he would swap us out according to our weight. Man oh Man did we ever have 4 Blue Moons on those days.

But the taste of the home made ice cream was well worth the cold backside.

          Kurt thanks for the memory.

          Aww Geez, Kurt!

I was thinking about going and getting some Blue Moon ice cream for old times' sake and now I can't. Every time I see a scoop of it now, I'll only think of butt cheeks, lol!

There's two that we ride to regularly on our Sunday motorcycle rides.
Ones 54 miles from here the other is 113.
Funny how distance doesn't matter when it comes to A&W root beer floats

Hum - my post didn't post -- either that or it was deleted because it's just too good to not be considered bald faced evil!

Yep. Dulce du Lache is vanilla ice cream with very thick splobs of butterscotch swirled through it - thick ones, not the little whisps of flavor that most swirl ice creams have.

Now if you like apple pie a la mode - and you like caramel apples - Dulce du Lache a la mode apple pie is just out of this world delicious. Especially if the pie is homemade with a tad of buckwheat in the crust. OMG OMG OMG - just talking about it is bizarre. I have to go buy some more apples and Dulce du Lache!

One scoop of vanilla ice cream. (the more custard the better!)

Some strawberry daquari mix (strawberries soaked in sugar work better)

LOTS AND LOTS OF Bailey's Irish Cream... yum...

    Blend into a shake.

Get the best vanilla ice cream you can (again, the more custard, the better!)
    two really big scoops ^^
    2 shots of espresso
add some chocolate. I prefer a mix of powdered cocoa and choc. chips
Blend! (This works for whatever your favorite coffee flavor, drink, is)

If you like to make ice cream.. homemade vanilla mixed with candied ginger, on top of pies is stupid good! If you don't have candied ginger (it can be hard to find), just use powdered ginger.

Ok, I'm just talking outloud here... but Kurt got me all hungry for ice cream. :p
    Dang it Kurt!!!

    Hey Kurt,

    Question about your video membership.

As you can see, I have a face that's perfect for radio. And I sound as bad as I look.

Is there still hope someone like me can still use videos to drive traffic?

Edit: I should add this is a serious question. My history of being a smart-a$$ in this forum isn't helping now

      Hi David,

And let me say I have the perfect voice for text.

There's any number of ways to make videos without having to be on screen. I've never made a video with me on screen.

It really isn't so much about the style of the video, but the content and the popularity of that content, as well as the marketing skills. And for marketing, I'm a little biased, but I believe the High Voltage Forum is the best value for video marketing anywhere.

I suggest for your first Youtube channel, you dedicate it to the topic of ice cream!

For some of us health freaks (been trying to shed some pounds and get healthy for some time now) frozen yogurt is a great option. Some low fat raspberry swirl on delicious plain vanilla flavor. Or peaches too. Just add fruit to give it more texture and make it interesting!

Ice cream is delicious. I remember when I was 8 our class made ice cream by using 2 coffee cans "1 big can and one small can" putting the small can in the big can and kicking the cans around the playground.

Good excercise and you get to eat home made desert when you're done.

I need to do that again.

    It was fun.

    Chad

    [Coffee can ice cream

    Vanilla ice cream:
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup light cream
1 beaten egg (or use equivalent reconstituted dried)
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Chocolate Ice Cream
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup light cream
    1/2 cup sugar
    4 tablespoons cocoa
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/8 tsp. salt

    Coffee Ice cream
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup light cream
    2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt

    For all varieties:
In 1 lb. coffee can mix all ingredients. Seal can lid well with duct tape. Put small, sealed can inside larger 3 lb. can. Pack ice and 1 cup salt around small can. Put lid on large can and duct tape closed. Roll back & forth on a large towel (optional) for 15 minutes. Open large can and dump ice and water. Wipe small can dry and open. Stir mix, scraping sides of can. Additional ingredients, eg. cookie crumbs, chopped nuts, can be added now. Reseal small can and place back in larger can. Repack with salt and ice. Continue rolling for 10 minutes more. Open large can and dump ice and water. Wipe small can dry and open. Enjoy!

Interesting tidbit for the link below...

1939: Grocery stores didn't start selling ice cream until the 1930's, and by WWII, ice cream had become so popular that it turned into somewhat of an American symbol.

(Mussolini banned it in Italy for that same reason)

Ice cream was great for troop morale, and in 1943, the U.S. Armed Forces were the world's largest ice cream manufacturers!
